7:52 HOLY SHIT. It's a blink and you miss it kinda thing, but before the perfect dodge, Clive is doing his FF16 taunt. In FF16, you can taunt enemies to provoke them into attacking you. It's incredibly sick that they managed to work that into the game.

Can you imagine people hoping for fewer explosions and flashing lights on the screen, and then seeing this? "Hey, everything you dislike about all the particle effects and yelling and nonsense in Tekken 8 -- we're adding way more than there's ever been before!!" "Did you hate Noctis? Too bad, here's another magic sword yelling guy!" Of course some people are disappointed. We're going to have to look at this guy for the next few years, or else just not play Tekken.

Haters def not gonna like this. But question is, why bringing more hate for no reason? For fun? Well... The reason i am telling this, is cuz it's not gonna change the difference. And the first line i told, will not affect any situation further. I hate him, cuz he's more unfitting, than Negan, or Noctis for Tekken 7. Especially Negan, since he's supposed to be weaker, and purely cuz Walking Dead is a horror theme. This FF16 protag, is wrong in many categories. Timeline, magic, summons, and especially not knowing for who he is. I never played FF16, but knew it existed. And not intend to buy it.

People are forgetting FF7 characters are hard to get in games because of Square Enix being super protective. Something Smash Bro's creator Sakurai stated cause he barely got Cloud and Sephiroth in Smash bros ultimate in his own words. So tifa getting in Tekken is a uphill battle.

Tekken is the Iron Fist Tournament. Emphasis on fist. Not Guns. Not Swords. Especially not magical swords and magical guns and magical summoning creatures. Soul Caliber is a weapon-based game. That is where these characters belong that use those types of weapons in my opinion.

It's just business dudes. Bamco can't exactly say no to SE's money while SE can say no to others using Tifa as a guest character. FF7 needs no cross-promotion and FF16 clearly does. So we get Clive in Tekken 8. I don't care about him and I haven't played FF16 either, but it sure looks like the developers did him and his game justice and the whole thing looks cool af. Also Tekken 7 had f'ing Negan and don't even get me started on how awkward of an insert that one was lol

Yeah. Sakurai had a hard time getting Cloud and Sephiroth into Smash Bros. So it makes sense that Tifa likely wouldn't get into Tekken.

This is my biggest issue of all. It's so many people that don't even know who Clive is, FF16 did pretty bad in sales, and they picked him over all of what the fans have been asking for. Harada is trying to get the MK1 treatment, where the fans just let the game go due to horrible content choices.

Honestly, I’m glad Tifa isn’t in the game. There’s such a heavy nostalgia for FF7 that it blinds some Tifa fans to overlook other possible characters in the franchise who would make somewhat of a fit in a fighting game. Especially considering the FF7 Remake saga isn’t finished yet, no way Tifa is getting unjailed from Square Enix until it’s fully finished
