⁠​⁠@@newhybrid101just wanted to highlight that the guy in the mask definitely is not Heihachi, someone fighting in his style though yes and I believe it’s lidia’s dad (photo in trailer had a 3rd person who wasn’t shown) and I believe that Heihachi and Lidia’s dad trained together and that’s how Lidia also gets tied into the dlc story mode. I think it is Heihachi we’ll get as a character but possessed or something like that… it’s Tekken pretty much anything could happen 😂

Wolf Markers Illustrations are by far some of the best in the series, imo. Usually, I get bored seeing the same character panels, but his illustrations are defaults with all of my characters. His art style is impeccable. He creates very dynamic lines that also happen to be very precise and detailed.

The bigger problem with character suggestions is, let's say you have a cool concept of a character like looks, fighting style, country origins etc and Bamco goes with it, create and release said character. You can claim the rights to it since it was your concept/idea.

a little light to shine on development from a compsci major: I can all but guarantee that by the time they announced Heihachi, Heihachi was pretty much done and they were partway through testing. That's not to say they should release him any earlier than they want to - but it should give an idea of just how long this stuff actually takes to make sure it's done right. Similarly, the last character is probably most of the way through the design phase. If they were going to take advice right now it would be on characters in the latter half of the next season of DLC drops. I'm saying this because this is the rough flow of all software projects. This stuff takes forever, and things like the need to mocap all the moves, brush up any old moves, rethink the design in terms of T8's new balance landscape and system mechanics, and make sure all of that isn't breaking anything in the game randomly, is why.

People shouting “the character was in previous games, why can’t they just release it?”. They seem to think you can pop an old game disc into a PC, drag and drop the files into Tekken 8, and voila, new content lmao.

But T8 doesn't even give them that luxury most likely since they did some pretty big backend updates to this game.

im new to the tekken community, just picked up 8 and started playing about a week ago. As someone coming from the smash community its really cool to hear that hirada and sakurai are good friends! im also really excited for heihachi coming back, he was really the deciding factor for me deciding to buy tekken 8 in the first place. not sure about anyone else, but i would like to see doctor b. back just because he was really funny and weird in both of his integrations as a playable character. i think i remember seeing a tier list of tag 2 saying he was like bottom 4, but i feel like if they kept something similar to the tag 2 moveset, tweaked and expanded upon it, then he could fit an interesting niche and maybe even see some serious play. i would also just like to see his customization options and see what funny cosplay getups people online would run.

I saw another video by Moonsault highlighting the same tweets, Namco really aren’t giving much to talk about atm so I guess it’s better to talk about something over nothing. I hope we do get a release trailer this week, I’m an old school Heihachi main and I’ve seen many changes to how he fights and I really hope they do him justice and don’t make him easy to use for everyone just because he’s dlc, I also don’t want him broken or too op and to keep his downsides which makes him unique.
