Now that makes me remember. Steve technically an Orphan (his biological mother doesn’t want anything to do with him, his surrogate mother Emma Kliesen maybe dead). So who knows maybe King got gut feeling, that he didn’t had proper childhood.

If I remember correctly, King's alley kicks are actually based off Inoki's grounded low kicks to Ali in that match.

Yeah, bit of a reference to Rocky Balboa vs Thunderlips (played by Hulk Hogan) in Rocky III as well. In both fights (Steve vs King and Rocky vs Thunderlips) the wrestler goes a little bit too hard on the boxer lol.

Technically King is already inspired by a real life Luchador. His design is inspired by the manga Tiger Mask, but his story is a nod to Sergio Gutiérrez Benítez, a Mexican priest who became a wrestler to support his orphanage.
