Congratz on the 1k. I absolutely agree on the meaning of the ranks. I've got Supreme with both Kaz and Devil Jin, and I really only faced strong players at around Tekken Emperor and above. I think the win bonuses have a pretty big factor in rank inflation. Along with demotion matches not meaning much anymore, this just pushes people higher even with lower win rates. I'm sure the devs did this on purpose to give a sense of progression to the player, but it sacrifices the integrity of the rank system, which you pointed out, is the main mode of a game like this. We either need to get rid of the win bonuses, and keep the way demotion matches and loss penalties work. Or if they want to keep win bonuses, make demotion matches more punishing. We also need a SF6 like ELO system for G.O.D players who still want to play ranked and want to push even further beyond. More ranks won't solve the issue, but an ELO system like they have in chess will be great for players who have hit G.O.D. Very good video. Wishing you all the best on your channel.

I agree with a lot of your points, ladder has really a big room for improvement, let's see what they announce on TWT. Unfortunately, because of the doubling down of the ranks and all the bullshit with a win not equating a loss against an equal opponent (depending on your rank) this data is really hard to analyze at a deeper level. The data does not follow a normal distribution to begin with, which already indicates that something is really broken (not a secret). If we fool ourselves for a moment and we assume data is normally distributed for a second, we could define that high-intermediate starts now at Fujin (around 1-sigma, 68%) and advanced level of play at Tekken Emperor (2-sigma, 95.4%). Of course elite level of play (3-sigma, 99.73%) is only GoD. I think the solution to fix the ranked system and make it fair is to make the lower ranks more meaningful (from fighter onward, for example, as you mentioned), keep a win=loss against an equal opponent which is defined as someone that has the same rank as you (no more Tekken prowess shenanigans), and create an elo system when you reach GoD (akin to what street fighter has implemented). This is a really fair system that also keeps it interesting if you are an elite player. Excellent video as always the Gian, congrats for 1k! But I foresee that you will grow way more :)

Nice job on the 1k mate. Blue rank double standard means has put me in a weird spot for this whole year. You've covered before that generalists like me who play everyone to some extent don't have the same experience such that looking at an opponent's rank doesn't really give me much info to go on. At 260k prowess, highest rank two Kishins at the moment and the distribution just feels wacky. I can't be happy with any rank in particular since it doesn't seem to suggest a general level. Of course if you run into gods then yeah they're probably going to be good but almost everyone I run into is around there now playing a side character anyway.

Now get this. I play only Hwo. I was Bushin with 193k, once I get to TekkenKing I got 230k. And there is no way back with points I think. Once you get many points you will be matched with better players. If someone plays many characters I can imagine the situation when the highest you are is Kishin, but you have 300k points and you are matched with players that are TekkenGod.

Rank is always going to be feeling like it's messy like i rarely know multiple games that get it right. The ones that do have almost had a rank system inbuilt for over 20 years like age of empire or something. Fast paced shooting fighting etc type of games they always almost feel "unfair"

Congrats on 1K - 2 things need to happen in Ranked Get rid of the Stupid Loss Streak Penalty and Win Streak Bonus Have it like Tekken 7 that if a much higher ranked player is ranking up a pocket Character you lose half of what you would normally lose fighting them.

I stopped at tekken god at the moment. I'm definitely gonna aim higher soon. It's harder in the blues now because all of at tekken god finally decided to rank up our other characters, lol. So ya, it's definitely a harder task. So be proud of whatever rank you make it to.

I feel like they need to just reset everyone’s rank and prowess. I have a theory that in order to boost sales of the game, they inflated any player’s prowess by 30k-50k if they started online after the 3rd patch. So that any newcomer would think, “oh wow maybe I have talent in this game because my prowess is comparable to pros.” When actually, most pros and anyone else who started at launch never got that 30-50k inflation because we were gonna play the game anyways. I swear by this theory. That’s why the blue ranks are so double sided between those who belong there, and those who keep getting screwed over by Tekken GoD’s using their secondaries. Before the 3rd patch, it was VERY rare to find a blue rank player with over 150k prowess. Now all fujin’s are starting at a base 180-200k…. And they are TERRIBLE. Cannot SS, cannot block a single low, hold back, spam, etc. yet, their prowess is higher than mine, a tekken emperor.

I think all ranks where you don't loose points are useless. Nethertheless they have purpose on the start of the game to encurage players to play.

I agree but still think there are too many of them!

I'd wait for something like tekkenstats to come around. Personally I don't think this gives us a right picture. Too many uncontrolled variables to make a conclusion there.

To be considered above average you need to reach at least Rajin
@cesarjack-vallee4398Ай бұрын
If you think that then you aren’t truly analyzing this data. 1. This data is only for people who played ranked during the month of November. 2. Fujin is still above at least 75% of players of that are playing currently which is above average no matter how you look at it.
@ragnarok7452Ай бұрын
According to tekken stats gg Garyu was the average amongst players who played. And from what I remember it was overtime stabilizing over there. Fujin was around 88-90 percentile. Raijin had a significant drop when compared to Fujin. We need something like that to make an accurate comparison. Even in T7 people based it on Top 10k data regarding percentile. If we take the whole playerbase though, Vanquisher is above Average based on steam achievements.
