Saying Nina has the same old tired story is so accurate. She really doesn’t do anything except be an assassin and fight her sister, and that’s kind of being played out. I really think the games should explore her relationship (or lack there of at present) with Steve Fox, having a son and protecting him would be interesting. Imagine if Anna targeted him to hurt Nina. Expand the Williams family drama!

Yes, Nina was practically Jin's right hand woman in T6, and was so loyal she willingly ran the Mishima Zaibatsu in his absence at the start of T7, so it was weird to see her acting as just another money-grubbing henchwoman. Also WHERE'S ANNA?! YOU CAN'T JUST SAY NINA KILLED HER FIANCEE AND THEN LEAVE US HANGING HARADA!!!

This is why Nina is the most boring character in the series. She's just every Mishima's top jobber and does nothing interesting. Tekken 3 and 4 were her peak because the fighting with Anna was no longer a thing and she was able to show some personality.

It’s one of those who you expect to see perform high in a fight, only to see her just hanging like a side character who’s supposed to fight someone, only ended up underperformed doin nothing. She didn’t lose to someone which doesn’t hurt her resume at least but making her doing nothing is equivalent of making her just looking at the lights is pathetic on Harada’s part. Wtf…????

For example King is always about to save Orphans in his Church and to face Armor King 2 and Marduck. Feng Wei is always about his Strength. Yoshi is in his own World to face against Bryan and for his clan. Bryan is always about chaos who wants to mess everyone. They were never connected to Mishima.

And Paul was literally Kazuya rival the two had a draw and he even beat Ogre he was Kazuya Hwoarang and again Harada forgot look for the details buddy the writers are bad

Jun's usage was terrible, a slap to the face for fans who were waiting 25+ years fir her return. She might as well have been dead for story purposes, stuck in a coma, so players will have to pay for Tekken 9 in order to see her wake up.

next tekken game should just go pure tournament story mode. bring back tekken to it's roots and give us a good fun tournament. also give us oldschool fans a reason to play arcade mode with every character so what i recommend is give us half the cast playable and the other have as unlockebles rivals. like in this game for example king main, and steve the unlockeble. you still have your complete roster but atleast we still feel we playing for something. you can still do dlc later on. but i miss the days off unlocking characters and not buying them.

My mains in Tekken are Raven(I mainly use Raven because he resemble Naruto characters in his unorthodox fighting style approach and because he's very unique and authentic, he's my trump card back from T5) and I admit it that If you don't adapt to his matchup he can definitely be annoying to fight against him. Hwoarang and Jin( these two are like the symbol of Yin&Yang☯️ in my eyes, they were my mains when I was starting to play Tekken 3 for the first time many many years ago, I also like it to use Eddy Gordo as well because of his Capoeira style of fighting). My List of annoying characters that I don't like to encounter/face are: Jun, Victor, Azucena, Dragunov, Xiaoyu, King, Devil Jin, Reina(sometimes), Yoshimitsu, Feng, Jack8, Nina, Alisa and Lili. So almost the entire roster I know... 🤷🏻‍♂️😅🙆🏻‍♂️✌️

I think the original devil should have been treated with a bit more reverence than just being a plot device to power up Kazuya. It feels a bit like how MK has buried Shinnok in the latest games. It hurt her image in Tekken 8 alot sadly. I hate how they wrote her to not do anything but be a easy to be had pawn plot device character. If she went out while having a battle with Kazuya using Azazel powers a bit I think she would have faired better. It makes using her in the game bittersweet. She has all these Azazel claw attacks and a over the top RA. Like why couldn't she be allowed to display any of that in story? They just made her seem very weak and useless in the story by comparison.

I hope they expand a story or something whenever these new characters show up not just a chapter ending on the DLCs, the only fodder that are portrayed correctly in any Tekken game are probably Alex, Combot, and Ganryu , and put in Josie but she’s not in this game. The rest are wasted and unearned, even Chang and Choi are respected despite glorified jobbers in SNK than that said sports team.

They don’t need to be important in the overall scope of things, they should be important in their own stories though. They have actively shred up goals or purpose of any character. They also simplify personalities or put in place activities that have an indefinite length. Like Nina and Anna having an endless war. Steve LITERALLY having no purpose. Bryan who canonically does literally nothing and thinks about one thing.
