Lets be honest... Shanks biggest feat so far in the story is being the desciple of Gol D Roger... Kaido vs Luffy G5 from the start. Kaido still has the strength, the speed and the experience to take Luffy down forsure. One of the biggest and most overlooked flexes of the entire series is when Luffy says, with his Futersight, he can see Kaido coming before it happens and he still is unable to get out of the way.

In a world with crazy abilities and powers, his title of "strongest swordsman in the world" as just an ordinary guy with a sword carries so much weight. On a similar note, I do wonder who the strongest fishman or giant in the world is? Given the physical size and strength differences they have, how does that compare against the strongest humans like Garp? Also, I feel like we have to give a shout out to Doflamingo. Even though he's clearly not the strongest because Luffy beat him, his Bird Cage trapped an entire island and was indestructible to even the combined might of hundreds people that included other contenders for world's strongest.

We've still only barely seen him fight, and I can't say he's done much to show himself vastly stronger than his opponents. Garp's Galaxy Impact can destroy a town, does that mean Jinbei could in theory destroy an entire island? Is it a difference of technique and the type of strength they have? Or maybe it's something like the average fishman is stronger than the average human, but the max potential of human strength is way above fishman?

There's a lot to say about the fact that Black Beard WAS able to sneak through Shanks' defence. Black beard is the darkness to Lufy's light. He is basically an assassin with the ability to negate superpowers, cause tsunamis, and maybe crack the world apart... Simple things. His tsunami is a huge AOE attack, with debuf for devil fruit users. He is also quite hard to kill.

I think the difference between the Admiral’s personalities is really cool -Aokiji: If asked to kill a friend he will make it seem like he died or tried but ultimately spare them (Saul and Garp) -Kizaru: When asked to kill a friend he would do it. With tears in his eyes but he would do it (Vegapunk) -Sakazuki: He would be the one to decide to kill his friend himself if he sensed any weakness or piraty behaviour. He may even enjoy it. To be fair, I think it's probably closer than a lot of power scalers admit. Like if Garp who wasn't at his strongest could take on 3 Emperor Commanders who were at their strongest and actually hold his own, that has to make us pause and think. I'd wager that Akainu is probably stronger than Kuzan but not by much and I think that means, judging by the way the Emperor system works, Kaido is probably close as well. If Akainu was stronger than Kaido, there wouldn't be a need for the Emperors and Warlords. I also think Akainu and Shanks are really close in strength.

In terms of physical strength it is probably Burgess or Loki In terms of Haki it is probably Shanks In terms of emotional strength it is probably Mihawk In terms of devil fruit then Blackbeard or Akainu takes it. Luffy is in contention but I don't think he has tapped the full potential of Gear 5. Garling and Imu have the biggest potential of current unknowns. Overall I'd probably say Akainu as he possesses a very destructive Devil Fruit, a high degree of physical strength and a great deal of endurance (given Punk Hazard)

New Mihawk agenda: Mihawk is a relative of Imu and was set to become the next leader of the holy knights. - originally there were 12 supreme blades for 12 holy knights and Mihawk got Yoru pre-blackened because of his family. Mihawk was betrayed by the Figarland family and fled Marijoise and started hunting marines. When he saw Shanks it was on sight thereafter. Shanks had more portential than his brother and was Mihawk’s friend/rival but in the end he lost his arm which sent Mihawk back into a lone life where he went and killed an admiral and turned his blade black.

2:15 It would be cool to have Dragon face-off against Imu in in the final, or next to final arc instead of Luffy. I wouldn't mind if we had to wait 'till then to see their powers either, going 0 to 100 like that would be pretty exhilaratingly to watch. While this is happening Luffy's final fight can be with Black Beard, or it can take place in the following arc because maybe after or during Imu's defeat we finally see exactly what Black Beard was scheming and he becomes an even bigger threat. Luffy doesn't identify as Joy Boy at all so I kinda feel Dragon vs. Imu is more appropriate, or maybe I just wanna see some really cool stuff! Shanks' biggest feat is the Kamusari? What about him making Greenbull piss his pants and run away just with Haki? What about ending the entire paramount war just by showing up? He's strong enough that ALL the admirals combined, plus Sengoku, plus all the warlords, plus all the blackbeard pirates, all understood that all of them COMBINED might not be a match for Shanks. And if you wanna count the movies, Shanks basically no-diffs Kizaru and couldve straight up killed him if he wanted to. @@zurpske I'm praying that you're the one joking man... For starters, how is prime Garp going to "low-diff" somebody who was matching him during training? A huge part of Garp's fighting style is his physical strength, which Kuzan showed relativity to. This already kinda makes your argument crumble. Next, you mention Garp fighting prime Whitebeard and Roger, which doesn't really prove anything? Like yeah, he was equal to them, but you're acting as if the top-tiers of the current generation aren't just as strong? Mihawk, Shanks, Dragon, Akainu, all sit on a similar level. And lastly you use the Garp fight as an example which is just really stupid. The ENTIRE fight Garp is telling Kuzan to basically stop holding back just because he's fighting his past mentor: "Wavering is a sign of weakness", "Don't be tied down by this nonsense", "you're soft!". We've seen Kuzan match Akainu's AP for 10 days straight, if you seriously think that some random ass 'ice-glove' is what kept Akainu's magma at bay, then you really need to reread the series. Using this fight where Kuzan's actively trying to avoid harming his opponent all while being extremely worried about him is disingenuous.

I’m guessing Luffy WILL be the strongest by the end of the series. But he isn’t right now. He still needs to develop gear 5 and especially his conqueror’s haki more. Imu is probably the current strongest. Bc he can teleport people and GIVE others immortality along with impossibly strong regenerative abilities, and crazy strong damage with their giant yokai forms. He can make people as strong as admirals. Odds are, he can also do that for himself to an even more ridiculous extent. Otherwise, I’d say Roger is the best answer. He was physically as strong as Whitebeard but without a Devil Fruit. And whitebeard was called the strongest man in the world after Roger’s death for a reason.

If we do get another God Valley flashback or info on Rocks, then I could put him over Roger. But he is very strong in terms of portrayel.
