I love that it's basically a theme that whenever the world government attempts to kill a prominent figure and make them an example of their control. That figure turns around and makes things worse for them as a final screw you before they die, Roger spurs on the younger generation to create the great pirate age, Whitebeard puts a cap on that by confirming the One Piece is real, trying to off Cobra causes Sabo to discover Imu and report that back to Dragon, and now Vegapunk is about to air out as much of the government's dirty laundry as he possibly can before he dies.

It seems to also be a theme that every time the world government does something to try to cover up its mistakes, or deal with what they assume to be a problem, they end up making things worse. Their attempts to kill Ace before he was born backfired, blowing up the ship leaving Ohara caused Aokiji to allow Nico Robin to escape, them covering up the effects of Amber Lead essentially created Law the pirate, etc. They really should change their tactics, the ones they use have a tendency to backfire on them. Not to mention in each situation they end up killing a bunch of people who shouldn't have had to die. They don't just have skeletons in their closet, they have entire graveyards in there. The amount of dirty laundry they have seems to be more than the amount of dirty laundry Laurel and Hardy had to wash in The Flying Deuces.

Still, it should be considered that the Elder Stars have never exactly been accused of being people who think out their decision as much as they probably should. From the start it was established that they wanted to keep certain parts of Egghead intact and yet the elder star leading this operation was the one who gave the order to start the buster call. He is essentially invoking the worst case scenario simply because he was angry about how things were going.

Of course, how widespread it is and how cruel it is probably isn't known to the public except those who have relatives who have suffered it or who have survived it themselves. I will say that there are probably a lot of things that we haven't even seen or heard about that Vegapunk can likely reveal to the world and I look forward to seeing the reactions. I do agree that I have been looking forward to the day when the Strawhats can beat an admiral both for the reason you state and because the admirals are considered the world government's strongest weapon. If they cannot stop the Strawhats then there is little that can be done to stop them. This will also cause them to gain more support from those who would have been afraid of being attacked by an admiral and would seek to support someone who can defeat them. Not to mention seeing the Elder Stars wet their pants would be enjoyable in and of itself.

That last double spread of Giant Luffy is fantastic! Some of the best spreads in this entire series have been in this arc. I was wondering how Dorry and Brogy were going to recognize the Straw Hats because I didn't think they met Sanji on Little Garden but of course, they looked at their bounty posters. I'm glad we got the names of all the Vice Adms. I feel like this chapter confirms Saturn is a Ushi-oni, whether he's actually the Yokai, has the devil fruit, or something else. Who is "Scholar"? Saul? Is Olvia still alive? Another Giant maybe named Odin or Mimir, who is the Norse God of wisdom? And I think Vegapunk’s message may be a posthumous message to be sent out if he died because we see a monitor flatline before the message starts.

Had to remain silent about everything he discovered himself, as not to alert the WG and had to have been planning for his death to happen, perhaps years in advance. Entertaining as always tekking. 2 things you seem to miss: 1. The monitor with the flatline and 2. the marine mentioning their communications are down in the beginning of the chapter, meaning Vegapunk was hacking the network preparing for his death.

Now we know it was Saturn who first struck Cobra during the flashback. If you look at the pattern on how the black arrow attacked Cobra comparing to how Saturn's legs attacked Vegapunk, Luffy, and Sanji

No, what struck Cobra was an arrow like tail. While the attack Saturn uses is something like a pointy thing... And Saturn wasn't transformed when Cobra was attacked. Since the Gorosei only transformed after Sabo attacked them

@@andrejosue98 a tail from...? None of them had tails in base human form, so whether it's a leg or a tail, one of them had to at least partially transform to use it. It also came from Cobra's left and Saturn was one of the 3 standing on that side. The shape isn't a perfect match but neither is the rest of Saturn's silhouette from that chapter.
