Staples are dangerous. Using pure banana leaves are good. Here in the Caribbean we use sohaaree leaves and lotus leaves. Stick with flour instead. When making kites to fly flour paste is used for sticking and it works. Try it.

i think it would be safer if they will use glue to stick the banana leaf to a connecting dry leaf plate, instead of using a staple.

Good film... except one BIG mistake @ around 10:12 minutes, we can see a man stapling pins on the leaves and the plates !! Shocked to see this, since it is very dangerous if a pin comes off and finds its way into the stomach of a person or gets stuck into the foodpipe !! This stapling should be stopped immediately. Some other alternative.... like for eg. pasting with glue dots should be used.

Neither the staples or the glue is good, it could still be done hygienically, professionally and efficiently with a little bit more engineering process

It seems to be quite an elaborate labor intensive procedure for making something they’ll probably just throw away and ou just hope and pray to God the staples don’t come out of the plate while they’re eating. they would probably be better off to come up with some sort of a wooden plate that could be washed and reused or maybe some sort of earthenware/Clay pottery.

A sad highly labour intensive process where the end product is simply thrown away with little consideration for the hard work invested. Perhaps the whole process needs a better degree of automation. Additionally wonder how is the waste in the mfg. process handled. Are there any by-products that can be thought of here?

Water scarcity forced the country to this way. Just have to wash the dinner pots and the dishes can go in garden compost. Where as in developed nations, everything is served, wrapped and packaged with plastics.

They could make better tooling combining banking and forming plates in one go. Lot of mannual work is involved in making it. Can be more automated and with upgraded manufacturing process.

The idea is super but there are a lot of improvements to be made. Hygiene is not a priority here. Intensive need for man power. Human labour is costly in many places. Colored sowing threads and use of staples are dangerous for health. If only someone can improve on this production, this can find great market possibilities. All the best.

Very very unsafe....why are these sellers doing bad karma!!... the staple pins on the banana leaf can be ingested accidentally and can cause serious lacerations in the gastro intestinal tract...even surgery maybe needed or can cause internal bleeding and death!!... Ask a colorectal or gastro surgeon....many snack sellers also use to pack food in plastic bags with stapler pins..that too can cause accidental ingestion if it falls in..BUT positioning this leaf is the worst I have seen...users..sellers and manufacturers please remove the use of staplers...they belong only for use in the office to staple papers....It's time for Indian vendors to rethink and reflect on their methods...use gloves..avoid dangerous use of tools..avoid packing food in news papers....use wax papers or useplan white grease absorbing papers instead and ONLY use food save products in all packing...dont use pins even in packaging of non food items...Overseas one cannot see shirts folded and packed with Pins since it's not child safe...be more professional....Good Karma will.work and reward you!
