TEKNO 410SL Failure: Rear Differential Pinion Failure

TEKNO 410SL Short Course Truck : Differential pinion gear failure. I believe that this is a very common failure with these trucks. In this video I discuss why I believe these failures are happening and how to manage the issue.

I'm just going to periodically check it and replace it if it looks suspect. I've heard the pinion is not a hardened metal like the metal used in the .3 and .2.. I'm running 30wt in the center diff. I might try a lighter oil and see how it runs on the track. Hoping the lighter oil reduces the load transfer to the rear. Maybe this will buy the pinion some more time. Other than this flaw...I really like the car.
