Welcome to the developer playthrough of TekTopia! My "What If" villager mod. In this series I'll be playing through the mod, building a huge village from scratch, showing off ALL the details about the mod and doing even more development as we go!
Today we add a great new feature to the mod: The Barracks!
Guards can safely train up now and we introduce the Captain of the Guard!

This video gave me three smallish ideas for this mod 1. An armor stand with better armor gives more experience when used for training. 2. If you leave occupation tokens in a chest at the school, the teacher will award them to graduates 3. Any villager can be trained to fight, but will instead use his work tools as his weapon.

I like your second and third ideas, but: 2. The profession tokens should be awarded with the 1st token (left to right, top to bottom) going to the 'smartest' student (highest intelligence score), 2nd token to 2nd 'smartest' student, and so on and so forth. 3. Using a work tool as a weapon should deal triple damage to the weapon and half damage to the target.

Tango you should add a war horn that the guards blow when they see a necromancer. It should wake all the guards and call them to the location of the necromancer. It may be too late, but I think it would be cool.

The fishermen should get fish, and sometimes books, and if a villager has a mending tool, he could give them to him so he fixes them

E E so you get fish for food, some books for the enchanter, some stuff you can fish that is rare, and if a tool has mending, he would fix it

@2000subscribers with no videos challenge I would think it is better if there is an extra token for archers and an "archer tower" structure would be cool to In the Archer Tower the Archers can go and stay there above everything else so they are safer but a new mob who counters them

Tango.. Maybe the Guards would duel each other for practice? (Obviously they wouldn't get hurt) but if 1 gets knocked down then it would count as the other Guard winning. And just out of courtesy the winning guard would help the other one up. I don't expect you to add it but it would be pretty cool.

I think we should all take a step back and watch the first what if mc has much better villagers episode. Just look at how it changed. 4 professions to now this + building tokens! This is insane! Congrats to Tango on the success of the mod! If you all agree, celebrate by likening the comment!

The resistance aura should have a slightly better effect the more the captain levels up. Eg. lvl 1: resist 1, lvl 2: resist 1.01, lvl 100: resist 2

I think increasing the effect by only 1 after 100 levels wouldn't be worth it at all. Maybe it could make it have more effects such as strength.

@@notagenestealer I like the more balanced maximum of 40% damage reduction compared to the relative invincibility of 80%. Maybe it is just only resist 1 until level 100, where it jumps to resist 2. It's cooler to have milestones to work towards imo.

I think that an in would be cool. It could be a house nomads for the night and, if there aren’t any available, house villagers with no assigned beds. The inn could also be where most nomads congregate, so it will be easier to find them as opposed to trying to find them wandering around town. Loving the series Tango! Keep it up!

A Promotion should make you happier. The less Captains you already have, the less happier it should make the Captain. And the clerics should probably Salute the Captain at least once a weak or so. Not to Mention, the clerics AI should be more changable regarding his preffered Targets.

You could have it so the inn lets the nomads have a chance to stay overnight and also have them put some emeralds in a chest ~1 per night or something but not let citizens of the village stay there

Two quick suggestions: We desperately need a lamplighter, to monitor lighting conditions within town limits and construct and place light posts (possibly custom, high-radius ones so the town isn't unimmersively filled with torches on the ground every couple feet). Night classes, a condition in which a teacher with happiness above a designated threshold will remain within the school rather than heading to the tavern in the evening, and other adult villagers with suitably high happiness will similarly favor attending evening classes over visiting the tavern for a small intelligence boost if a teacher is present. Almost 3k comments, holy moly. Haven't dug through them but I've seen some good suggestions like fishing, and more support for mushroom stuff. Tried to format this so my actual personal suggestions I haven't seen yet will be seen first and quickly, if at all. Excellent work, awesome series. Can't wait for the mod to drop, I'm hoping to build some form of dwarven hold into a mountain.

Question : Can you only have one village? or can you have multiple ones? Ideas : 1. villagers prioritise the grass-paths 2. if a villager dies total village happiness decreases , maybe a larger decrease is the villager resides in the same house as the one who died 3. if a villagers happiness depletes completely (or maybe fully deplete then you have a countdown timer of like 5-10 minutes) the villager will become a nomad and leave immediately , you cannot get them back using tokens 3.5. children could also have a small chance (5-10% max) of becoming nomads when they grow up . This chance becomes higher as the population increases or if the total village happiness is too low 4. a way to keep track of your villagers , maybe a log book? giving you a list of who the villagers are and what their profession and coinciding skill level is 5. Park structures or benches , allowing villagers to take a break and regain some happiness but would not be as effective as the tavern . villagers could also have a "day off" ( day once token is set , every seven days afterwards) where they would still produce stuff for the village , but they are more decorative items (such as paintings , filled maps , treasure maps , dyes(?) etc.. )

​@@silg7262 rethinking nitwits leaving yea maybe not , imma remove that but with children It wouldn't happen often , like a 5-10% chance at max (so it would be like out of 20 kids there is a small chance that one of them might leave , leaving you with 19 nitwits , so still plenty unless you're really unlucky) , and with villagers it would probably be that they would be at no happiness for a few in-game days (maybe with a min of 5?) , giving the player a chance to get their happiness up so the challenge to keep your villagers in is still there but it should be easy enough to avoid if you help your villagers out , even if just a bit . this is more to encourage the player to actually manage and think about the future of the village , rather than setting it up and creating a wheat empire ) maybe there could be an ability to have parks or other leisure options (such as taking a day off to do other things such as paint , read , socialise and whatever else) other than the tavern? they wouldn't give the villagers the same boost but could up their happiness by a small amount, preventing a mass exodus of unhappy villagers

@@raz7075 in large a very large village it would be really hard to see. Also villagers affect their own happiness. Players don't really. It would also make it difficult to start a villages, before you have access to things that make your villager happy.

​@@silg7262 what i meant by helping is providing extra resources such as food (especially if you don't have a chef) , cooking potatoes and making bread (all villagers will go to the same area for food or even just kickstarting the farms with bonemeal so the farmers can get food. making sure your first villagers don't die is also key until you can get a guard. maybe the log book could also show a villagers happiness level , so you can single out who you need to prioritise

I know, I'm that dude who posts the same thing almost every video, but seeing as you added another new thing, id figured id comment again for the first time in awhile. fishers. They can fish up armor, enchanted books, random resources such as paper, string, kelp, blah blah blah, and of course, fish, adding more meal options. Yes, this will get burried , yes, if it is seen it will be ignored, and whatever. I just think this would be a really good addition, s I feel like it's the 1 type of villager that would be found that doesn't exist.

The captain of the guard should be able to do extra damage when he falls below 5 hearts or his ally guards fall below 5 hearts it's kind of like that he is motivated to win and whenever the captain of the guard dies in battle the other ally guards should gain a damage buff or a speed buff like if they want to avenge their fallen captain

I don’t agree with the captain getting/giving an extra buff when below 5 hearts, but I do like the idea of a buff when the captain dies. Avenge him!

One more thing I want to point out, I have been reading through the comments of this vid and 99% have been huge updates to the mod. All I suggest to Tango is to make a website for this mod and make it almost exactly set up like flans mod so that anyone can add their own additions to the mod without you having to make all of these a reality yourself. If you agree, please start to comment this on the next vid so that Tango sees this. I think this would be really cool, especially for how big this mod is. This doesn’t have to be implemented right away but I think it would be nice in the future!

Also forgot to mention, if you don’t know what Flan is, it’s a weapons and vehicles mod for Minecraft that sets up the bare bones of the mod for you, and then lets other people download addons off there website to drag into a special config file where the game looks for them to implement them into the mod for you. Basically it makes it so you can make mods that work specifically with this mod that are then added into the config for the Flan mod itself. For some people, that may be confusing and I am sorry for that, if you look it up on KZbin, it will be way easier to understand. Thanks for reading this and have a nice day?

There should be something like... Hollidays where they are celebrating something, eating all together in the tavern ad so on... Like once every 100 in-game days or so.

Celebrating the day the village was created. For player made it would be the moment they place the townhall down For world generated it would be the moment they load in for the first time.

Suggestion: Guards or blacksmiths equip the armor stands with outdated and not-used village armor. The higher the level of the armour equiped by the stand, the higher the ammount of XP earned is.

You should add a feature if a more skilled villager is near less skilled, more skilled will give other tips, which will rank them up

I have an idea for a building, the guild. The guild allows higher-skilled villagers to help lower-skilled villagers level up much more quickly, and extra teaching skills allows the master of that profession to better teach lower-skilled villagers.

I think the captain should also have a few more gimmicks. 1. The captain should be able to have a special attack of their own. Maybe he should be able to insta kill an enemy. It'd look like they moved the sword in a way to cut off something's head or torso. However, this is slower, happens less often, and it can't insta kill tougher mobs. It only does more damage 2. The aura should give a strength buff. Strength 1. 3.This is more or so for all guards, but maybe after getting to level 30, a guard can throw their sword. But the sword would act like a trident. They'd have to go get the sword. And the sword can't go to far. Probably like a 15 radius. BTW, if any of you disagree, tell me why. If any of you have any ideas, please tell me!

Modus Wook A way to make it an instant kill is just make it do a lot of dmg 10 hearts would make it one shot basics zombies and skeletons with no sword but only do 10 hearts to say a necromancer

Because it gets hard to manage the village once it gets bigger, it would be a great idea to add a way to view the general stats of the entire village. A possible solution to this is by adding the “Mayor” who will also spawn in with the Tradesmen and the Architect. When the player clicks on him, he would have a simple GUI displaying: - Amount of villagers - The amount of professions - Amount of buildings - Available beds that can be taken - General happiness - General intelligence - (This may be a bit harder since you’re already so close to releasing) Recommendations and tips depending on the players progress in their village. So new players who haven’t watched you’re series know what to do and how to do it. (Kinda like the Guide from Terraria if you’ve played that game) Btw this mod really reminds me of an older game called “Towns” that isn’t updated anymore, but had tons of content. It is literally structured exactly the same as this mod. So if you ever need additional concepts that are proven to work, you can search up the game. You can watch “Sips” the youtuber from Yogscast play it, but that was a series from a couple years ago.

either they can get up early or go to bed late to get some training in (when not enough guards at cost of happiness) but when you have excess guards they could maybe go on a roster so your town is always adequately protected?

Hey Tango been watching this development and playthrough of this mod for a while now, and it looks so interesting. I do have a few sugestions to further add new features to this mod. I know most might not be reasonable to be added, and some/most been sugested prolly before 1: Archers... Archers can be placed in "archer/guard towers", to defend the city at range, and have theyr own archery range to train (who will make arrows, need a fletcher for that?) 2: Viillagers prefered house.... villares should prioritize what house is closest to them, so they dont need to travle across the tntire town to get to work, face it, who want to drive for 3 hours strait to get to work every day? 3: Guards loot... guards should/might loot what item drop by mobs, turning the items to green as villegar items 4: deliveryman... delivery man can transport larger quantum of items to villagers that needs stuff... if you put a chest in a mine or blacksmith or any other major places, and put a itemframe on it with a marker, the blacksmith/miner/etc can request items, up to... say a stack at a time to not overfill a chest, and when a blacksmith is done creating, he can put the item into the chest and the delivery man can transport it to the storagehall 5: Adventurer/Scavangers.... these guys go out in the day to scavange for items, mushrums, flowers, feathers, etc, antything that might be usefull, maby even find items that can be very usefull 6: Fisherman... do I realy need to explain this one?... fishing fish with fishingpole, duh.... 7: scouts.... exploring, and reporting back with wrighten books (locked) with cordinats about interesting places that the player might chek out 8: brewery.... well this one would require mods and such, but it would be cool to see a brewerry that brews all kinds of bewerages 9: potionmaker... well kinda says what it is on the tin... one person making all kinds of potions, and potions the guards might use in combat 10: potential of raising a kid up to be the village idiot, a very low chance, but this person doesnt do anything good, slower than normal learning curve 11: priest/clerric's church/chaptel... people might want to go to church and pray for anything realy, better crop yeald (wich they never do, cause gods are basturds), but this might increase theyr morale/hope up) 12: no villages should live forever, but for how long, how old should they become? this could be turned off that villages die due to it might get tedious for some 13: undertaker/semetary... if villagers die from monsters, undertaker will burry them in a semetary. question touhgh... 1: will the storagehouse allow normal and traped chests for compact storage? normal, trap, normal, trap, and so on? Doubble chest side by side 2: will this mod be compatible with other mods? jabba barrels, diamond chests, Cooking for Blockheads

I agree! Sparring practice! It could even deal a little damage, but be a way better gain than the dummies. And maybe the gains would be great for the lower level guard but not much for the higher level one.

Dear Tango tek, i think that about a 1 billion people asked you to add ability to declare wars betwin willages, but i want you to tell my own ideas. 1-how to create "team's" for willagers: I'm not good at programming, but... you would place banner "color of banner is team color". Peaceful willager like teachers and farmers e. t. c. will come to town hall and do an animation like"ok. Now i'm red"in villager's menu you may see their team(somewhere in menu). And guards would attack enemyes team(but they also may be allies). 2-new classes of warriors: horseman Ride a horse(from new structure-horse stall) he is fast. That all. Bowman/crossbowman(i know,1.14!) he is shooting. That all. Barbarian Axes are strong(not as poland) I hope my ideas not crazy. Thanks for reading!(omg i wrote it)

Training on armor stands should give some stress relief instead of causing it. Guard work is stressful and having something to relieve that stress on is very important.

make a graveyard, here's how it works: when villagers die, a grave is created in the graveyard (A village is only considered a village if there are a graveyard AND a town hall). Then at night, a grave has a chance to spawn a zombie villager. An added bonus would be to make children occasionally run into the graveyard as if on a dare, but otherwise, all villagers stay away from the village. There could even be a zombie doctor that can heal the zombie villagers but needs the standard golden apple (from lumberjacks and miners) and weakness potion (from a Potions Master or simply provided by the player) to do it. The zombie doctor would cost a lot to buy and would be fairly endgame.

Okay, so you have infantry. You're going to add archers (probably) So with those 2, why not add cavalry? The rancher could take care of the horses. I don't know what weapon you'd make them have, but seeing them charge into battle and run through the enemies would be pretty cool in my opinion. It would need a new building for the horses but eh

In one of your Villager Mods where you were actually making the mod, near the end of the Guard video, you said that you were going to be putting in Raids, and you showed hordes of zombies and a couple of Vex's in there, and it would happen late game. So I'm guessing you're not going to do that, I just wanted to make sure that you didn't forget about it or something XD.

you should make it so the guards can place armour on the armour stands which allow them to level up quicker when training, any spare armour in community chests could be used up there so they arent taking up space!

You should add guard scouts They would basically be guards but would venture out of the village looking for enemies, like pillager outpost and pillager patrols, but every other night or so they would come back to give info to the guards which would level up the guards and the scouts 👌

Tango please make the guard villagers use different attacks other than the basic one that they are currently using lime spining and swiping their sword against the monsters face just as a really cool feature like as a finishing move you could have the gaurds thrusting their sword forward or doing a cool upward swing I think that everyone would enjoy that :D

A few ideas. 1. Marriage - Villagers will marry each other. A priest or other religious figure will be needed for marriages. When married villagers will gain extra happiness from everything when their spouse is in the same building/area as them. When they get married, one of the villagers will change their last name to their spouse's last name. Villagers are more likely to marry each other if they have the same profession or some of the same skills. Villagers are more likely to get married if they don't have a low happiness level(and possibly a new love level). Adults who are married are the only ones who can make children and villagers will have data stored about who their immediate family is(parents, spouses, children, and siblings.) 2. Church - A new building where marriages happen, religious and magical villagers(druids, Enchanters, etc.) will go often, and every seven days most of the village will come at the same time. 3. Housing - Families will live in the same house if there is room. When villagers are born(or marry), they choose to live in the house with the most immediate family members in it. Sometimes this will kick out other villagers that don't have families living in their house. Putting chests in houses will make villagers put away their inventories when they sleep. Sleeping without items will increase the happiness gained from sleeping as they will be more comfortable. 4. Homeless - When villagers grow up they can become homeless if they don't get a profession within a certain amount of time. The homeless population with not be allowed to take as many items(like food) from storage or from the tavern. They will also not be allowed to marry. 5. Bullies - Some children will become bullies. Annoying other kids will make them happy while getting bullied will make a child less happy and possibly make them lose a bit of health. Bullies will sometimes form into groups if there are multiple bullies and groups will cause the bullies to gain more happiness and bullied kids even less happy. Sometimes adults(Especially parents, teachers, and sometimes siblings) will intervene in bullying. 6. Elderly - When a villager has been around for a certain amount of time they can retire from their profession and can no longer have children. Elderly villagers will walk slower than other villagers and will mostly only leave their house if they need something from storage or the tavern. When elderly villagers are home their children/grandchildren will stop what they are doing and visit them. Visiting will increase their happiness, especially children. Elderly who were soldiers will be saluted sometimes as veterans when they are out and about, especially from current soldiers. Eventually, elders will die, which will cause most of the village to lose happiness, especially their family. 7. Weapons - Villagers will sometimes carry around weapons like swords that are stone or wood. They will use these weapons for self-defense against mobs or sometimes kids will use against bullies and run. Butcher, chefs, and lumberjacks will use items from their profession in order to defend themselves. If you have finished reading this thank you for taking about an hour of your life to read my 500-page long chapter book about ideas for a Minecraft mod. Also, pls thumbs up cus this took forever to write and I really like these ideas. Edit 1 : Added idea 7 because I had thought of it and forgot to put it in. Agreed, they seem a bit lifeless now, almost robot-like, they need to mingle with each other like vanilla villagers does. Also thy should look directly at the player from time to time when the player is nearby, and maby also aproach a nearby player.

Here's some ideas : - Maybe you should make a very expensive profession token for a guard (like the captain token) that will transform the guard to a companion who will follow you and assist you. The companion will also have a backpack like the nomad because he is prepared for very long travels (and because it's cool). - It will also make him stronger and make him move a little faster than before. - And you should allow the guards to have a bow and a sword (they could switch : first they will shoot arrows and after they'll run and use their sword), or a sword and a shield. Anyway great video, your mod looks awesome and I can't wait to test it !

I know you’re about to release the mod but if you ever get around to a 2.0 or even just an update to it, I have three suggestions. One is an archer, seems like a great addition to the guard(I know you hinted at this but I’m just repeating it). Second is an iron golem, I think the iron golems are classic guardians of villages, perhaps they could only be made by villages that have both an enchanter and blacksmith(blacksmith to make the blocks, enchanter to “animate” it). Third, this is probably the most fringe but an Alchemist. They would make potions that would be used by the guard and maybe things like thick, mundane, and awkward potions would raise the happiness of normal villagers. The biggest problem with the alchemist would be the fact that most ingredients come from the nether so none of the potion would be “villager” potions but that wouldn’t be that big of a deal.

I have an idea for a building, the guild. The guild allows higher-skilled villagers to help lower-skilled villagers level up much more quickly, and extra teaching skills allows the master of that profession to better teach lower-skilled villagers.

Most SkyBlock type packs that I've played make their own edits to recipies for the world. I support this whole heartedly, but it's something that'd probably be done by the creator of the pack.

i like this concept but when the traders and nomads spawn at the edge of the town border... where would they spawn? what good would the miners be? etc. it would require extensive rewritting to impliment something like that. this could be a concept down the line but it wouldnt be anytime soon.

Yeah I had the idea of the custom recipe by the modpack and not Tango but since he made the mod it would make sense that he comes up with the recipe, also in most sky block modpacks there is a way to make ores from stone so miners would still be nice to have to maybe help you automate the process a little, also as far as I am aware you don't even have to have miners you could just give the villagers ores you made yourself etc. And as for spawning i don't see a problem if the recipe is super expensive, by the time you make it you would definetly be able to make an area big enough for villagers to spawn on . But anyways I agree that maybe this concept is a bit wild but it would be fun to play with Tango's villagers in a sky block like modpack or perhaps just so we can craft it in normal moded minecraft since usually moded worlds that change terain generation also tend to have overall less villages which is how you find a town hall token in the first place

Yeah, I had proposed that in the video where he explained the pathfinding. And it's not just applicable to skyblock type maps... what happens when the "furthest extents" of the village pathfinding zone are unavailable by ANY means? Like an underground village cave system? Or a Nether or Ender island?

Actually there are already crafting recipes for the town hall and for the storage. As for what good miners are in skyblock, they can have a chance to mine resources out of stone - doesn't matter if you've manually placed that stone, or what level it is at. You can just manually build stone tunnels for them to use, and refill them, and get some resources that way. As for the nomads spawning - if there aren't any blocks for them to spawn on at that point, they will simply fail to spawn - you'll get a message telling you they did so. With the new "village border" feature, you can pretty easily build a diagonal platform out from the town hall until you reach the corner, and just build up a spot there for them to spawn. I'm pretty sure, for the most part, this mod would almost work as is for skyblock currently. The biggest issue is that the crafting recipes for the tokens need one of each iron tool, each. You could get those from Zombies, or iron golems, though. It'd just take some work.

Just want to bring back a few good suggestions I've seen in order to get them accross: > Guards should be able to be equipped with bows/crossbows to become archers. > Villagers should be able to climb ladders and use minecarts. > You should set up an archer range for the barracks where guards will come and shoot at a target from a distance. > Idle animations should be added for villagers to make them seem more lively and not like brainless drones. Having a villager lean against a wall, drink a cup of beer, chitchat with another villager or scratch his ass every now and then would be a reliever. Well, maybe not the last one... > You should be able to create paths that villagers will follow, like smooth stone slabs, pathway, gravel and such. This will keep them from wandering all over the place and will allow you to keep things more organised. Ofcourse a villager can break this from time to time, but mostly he'll follow it. > There are few things threatening a maxed out village. Here are some ideas to fix that. Add criminals for example, which periodically spawn in your village where they can steal loot and murder unfortunate villagers. If your guards sees them they will either kill them or bring them to a prison. Another way would be to have the village frequently be raided by pillagers, weather or not you have the bad omen effect. A few stray zombies poses no threat to the village. A large horde of pillagers might. > This will probably be a lot of work, but adding biome specific skins to the villagers could go a long way. > You should have the abillity to tell guards to follow you into the wilderness, acting as bodyguards or helping you raid a pillager outpost. > Tokens should probably be redesigned. Circles?! What sorcery is this?! > You should be able to send a team of guards out into the wilderness in order to find treasures. This will be high risk high reward. They will be away for anywhere between 8 to 20 minecraft days. When the team comes back, some may have died depending on their skills and the size of the group, or they may not return at all from the dangerous mission. With them they might have found everything from slimes and other exotic stuff from biomes far away, emeralds, diamonds and different valuables you might expect to find inside dungeons and sunken ships and the like. Chances are also that they might come back empty handed. > This last one is my personal opinion, but I think villager items should be gone. They make absoulutely no sense and only separates the mod further from vanilla. A diamond mined by a player should have the exact same value as one mined by a villager. If a player decides to use farms and such to boost his village, that should be up to said player. Everyone should have that freedom, and the mechanic seems like a pointless limitation. Then again, great mod! Looking really forward to it!

You could introduce desks, on which students pull out papers to take notes, and maybe make them learn more often. You could also make it so that the architect, the captain, or even other villagers, when sitting in front of a desk are writing on a book or something like that, only for the details, or maybe they can also learn of it. Also, it would be cool that players could sit on the chairs as well and share some time on the tavern with the villagers of the town.

questions, trading, pets, archer, fish, rabbit, mooshroom, horseman, redstone, mob farm, nether, brewer, village extender, merchant lama, player farm/pen, small house, specific storage, reading chair, band, jukebox, underwater and kelp farming , teaching, blocks, personalities, skiling and children thats the complete list of my sugestions in its shortest possible form in order of apearence and yes, its clickbait. like and reply so tek sees the comment im going to apologize for the wall of text now questions - im wondering what happens if i build my village in the sky or deep underground? (specifically the lumberjack and weather he will try to go for trees on the surface? and also weather the merchant and nomads will spawn inside the village if they cant get in?) im also wondering what happens if you build a village in the nether or the end? are there things in place to pervent that or will they be attacked and killed by ghasts or enderman? do furnaces need to be behind the door for the smith to see them? (>1.13 village blacksmith) trading - a new trading system where villagers will buy thing they need and sell things they produce. (so the miner sells all kinds of ores and stone and buys pickaxes, maybe even enchanted ones) when you sell something to the villager he gets a yellow untradable villager item (villagers no longer use normal items) and he gives you regular emralds for it. make the trades shuffel around so the enchanter sells different kinds of enchanted books pets - dogs and cats can help the guards and birds can give happyness randomly archer - self explanatory fish - fisherman rabbit - mooshroom - why not? horseman - can have special attacks and would be really good against archer types (skeletons and pillagers) redstone - redstone farm tokens and the villagers can take from the chest at the end, might produce yellow villager items for balence mob farm - same as redstone farm nether - a villager who goes to the nether portal (but not actuilly through) and dissapears, returning after some time with random loot brewer - the only problem i see with the brewer is resources, just make the farmer farm netherwart and implement the mob farm token and nether ideas and youve got resources covered (if you impliment the trading system you can just have a brewer and have him buy blaze powder and potion ingredients and you dont need to have anyone actuilly getting him supplies. (tho you could still have the nether guy and have guards gather mob drops. then sell ingredients to get the production really going. (the mob farm is really the one i think would be hardest to do (tho really im thinking with the trading system idea because thats my favourite, if the villagers can use vanilla items it shouldent be hard to tell them to take items out of a chest)))) village extender - just a token that extends the range of the village (its looking like you could use one of these in your game) marchant lama - a lama or train of lamas that follows the merchant, just for visual enhancement player farm/pen - so the villagers dont harvest my crops and steal my sheep. i have to eat too you know! small house - with 1 bed. can be 2 blocks of space (just the bed) but if its smaller that 9 he dosnt get happy anymore and if its smaller than 6 he gest unhappy. extend that to the larger houses too (ex 2 ppl can live in 9 spaces, but i wouldnt like too. and it wouldnt even make sense to have a 6 person house where i cant fit 6 beds) (maybe you can include an ini file where the user can configure min/max building sizes) specific storage - a storage space that belongs to a profession (so a miner storage and a lumberjack storage) they could be close to the work areas and the villager will drop off there most of the time and then randomly take everything from their storage and move it too the main storage. and if a villager cant find what their looking for in the main storage they can check the specific storages reading chair - looks more comfey and goes in the library. sitting villager will increase inteligence a lil faster and maybe get some small happyness band - make bards able to play in a band and multiply their happyness production jukebox - make the tavern see the jukebox and while a disk is playing the villagers get really happy except the bard whos not happy to be put out of a job underwater and kelp farming - make villagers able to inteligently manage o2 and swim. and make the farmer able to farm kelp. i dont know anything about codeing but this one sounds like it would be more trouble than its worth. if im wrong and its not that hard than this would be the coolest thing ever (espically if they were smart enough to swim between underwater buildings) teaching - villagers teach children and they get a lil skill in whatever (so the farmer will take a break and teach the nearest kid something and he will get a farming skill) blocks - villager who makes building blocks (planks, bricks, stairs, glass) so you can use them for construction or trading (i imagine cutting trees and mining cobblestone to build houses would get rather tedious in survival) personalities - villagers have personalities (so one farmer will plant more than harvest even tho all boxes are ticked because his personality says he likes to plant, while another will spend most of his time at the tavern, or wandering around looking unhappy but you look and he is perfectly happy. and another is mostly making trips back and forth to the storage. maybe one will harvest 1 potato and put it away and another will get 3 stacks before storing it) could extend to children too. it would determine where they like to play, (ex near the edge of town, near the blacksmith, by the farms) who they like to hang around, (like other kids mostly but sometimes adults too. maybe have some not spend much time with other kids but instead hang around a specific adult most of the time) weather or not they atend school regularly (skipping classes) skiling and children - children skill up faster than adults (when teaching the kids they skill up lots and just from watching if the farmer skills up the kid might get 2 skills) skills are the same difficulty to lvl regardless of starting skill (so the farmer who started with 20 will reach 21 as fast as the guy who started at 40 will reach 41) and the more he skills up the harder it is for him to skill up (so a farmer who started at 50 will hit 100 sooner than a farmer who started at 25, even if the farmer who started at 25 had significantly more intelligence) the kid who skipped school to hang out with the blacksmith would grow up to be a very good blacksmith at this point ive got this in a txt document and im just adding more stuff and pasting hoping one of these times my comment wont get lost and maybe it will get seen edit: i know right now your trying to finish the mod and dont want to add too many features. but i would also be rather sad if the mod hit 1.0 and never recieved an update. i think you should continue the dev playthrough, and add more features over time. finish it to 1.0 and take a break and do other things, but put it on the list and make more videos over time. (i myself subscribed for this mod and im probably not the only one, but i know others have been asking about the other types of content you make)

Hey tango. I was wondering if you could make it so a captain can lead a barrack, making multiple captains. Like one captain leads a ten normal guards that are in its Barrack? And another captain can lead another Barrack? Just an idea in my head, it probably won't work. Great video anyways!

I know this would be a huge update, but here’s something: village wars and construction villagers in naturally spawning villages. These would allow a dynamic play through w/ battles, and trading with other villages.

Add Shields to the Guards, the Shields should just give a little amount of extra health, but then remove the bonus health that Guards have by default, gives another item for the Village to generate, and gives another use for Iron, since it becomes obsolete for gearing a little while into the game. Or you can even have the Captain have a Shield, instead of the Winged Helmet, and then disregard the Health Bonus, and just have the Shield as a cosmetic feature on the Captain.

this has been discussed in live streams. al though tango likes this idea, he has no plans at this time to put in shields YET. maybe something after release to go with ranged guards as a feature update later on.
