The Rick has better clarity/definition note to note and string to string.

Tele anytime of the day for me. Most versatile guitar ever

Very good and interesting comparison. I think this highlights in this comparison that they are close enough for someone like me (just a stay-at-home intermediate player on a budget) not to be able to justify the cost of the Rickenbacker over a decent-ish Telecaster much as I might like to have one.

The solution id to buy one of each!!!

Interesting comparision. They both sound similar but Rickenbacker sounds more jangly while Telecaster rough and twangy.

What is the difference between jangly and twangy? I feel like people say “jangly” when it comes to Rickenbackers just because everybody else uses it. It’s not really a distinct descriptor next to a similar word like twangy
@olganesterowiczАй бұрын
@@Pepper-cd9yr IDK. I happen to call the middle position on my Tele "jangly".

Interesting comparison. Thanks for doing this comparison clean. The next step for me would be to see how closely I could get each guitar to resemble other through with the guitar’s, the amp’s tone controls, and/or an EQ pedal to tailor the mids.

I've never played a Rickenbacker, but it sound way twangier than the Tele! I love it!!

Both are good for different things. However I will say that the telecaster has more of a traditional way of playing. The Rickenbacker plays different than most guitars.

@@EddieSpaghettiMusic I’ve owned a 1954 Tele for 30 years, and I love it. It’s my number one, and she sounds amazing. But honestly, now I wished she had the awesome twang that Rick has. I’m really impressed.

The Rickenbacker has a little more jangle to it, a great 60’s rhythm sound. The Tele a little cleaner and its sound is timeless.

I love both, but the Rickenbacker has a more full-bodied sound. Maybe a better comparison would be either with a Tele semi hollow or a Rickenbacker solid body.

What about a solid tele compared with solid 620 Rickenbacker. I just posted a video with the 620. You should check it out.

Great video. Good to compare these two guitars. There are many recordings where people have mistaken Telecasters for Rickenbackers. With the appropriate signal chain and amplifiers it is not too difficult to get a Tele to sound a lot like a RIC 6. Imho, a better comparison would involve two solid body guitars, so a solid body Tele with a Ric 6xx, or two semi hollowbody guitars like a semi hollowbody Tele with a Ric 3xx. I agree with other comments here. Straight out of the box and straight into an amp, the Tele is going to have a much brighter high end sound with more treble - especially with just the single coil bridge pickup. The RIC 6 will have a warmer sound with stronger mids. I've heard it said that a single coil Telecaster is a poor man's Rickenbacker. I get that. But realistically, compared to a RIC 3xx/6, the Tele is probably a much more versatile instrument for the money. Cheers from the Land Down Under.

I recently got a 620 in maple glo. I have been playing it all over the channel. I should compare the Rickenbacker 330 with 620.

Telecaster is way brighter and chimey-er. The Rick is more jangly as stated by another commenter.

I hate the way most Guitar players on KZbin play open (G) with a (D) on the second or (B) string, too many (D) notes in a (G) chord, let the (B) string ring out.
@EddieSpaghettiMusicАй бұрын
I like that sound too. But it depends on the song. I like to do the full one because it’s harder to play.
