two awesome mics. worth having both. depending on the vox and in the context either mic would be great.

Two very different amazing microphones. Each has it's own niche and would outperform just about anything in specific instances. One key thing to note. The forward sound that most on here seemed to love from the 251 is pretty achievable with the C12 as well. Consider what mic pre you have it coupled to and positioning of the mic as well as room acoustics. I was hearing a lot more room tone in the C12. That may be largely rejection based but do we always want that? In my mind sadly this just proves that I need to own one of each. 20 grand!!!
