A very frank and honest episode, which seriously considers the difficult decisions Ukraine and the West face. Well done. Of course, the apologist for Putin's imperialism, torture and war crimes hasn't bothered to listen to the episode, doesn't realise this, and repeats the same old garbage. PS I liked the mention of Times Radio's unfortunate habit of giving clickbait headlines to its episodes. It's why I prefer the Telegraph's Ukraine the Latest - despite my politics being to the left of the Telegraph.

Why do we not hear more incredulity at the prospect of Ukraine sharing their plans with Trump? It's such a bizarre prospect.

The Ukrainians know what they're sharing and they know about OPSEC. The Ukrainians kept the Kursk offensive completely quiet. The "victory plan" Zelenskiy will be sharing will be the "public version". The real plan includes elements that only Zelenskiy, Syrskiy and a very few others know.

The Soviet military doctrine was always to reinforce success, even at the cost of difficulties elsewhere. The Russians, rather pragmatically, although not necessarily to the liking of the citizens in the Kursk area, are forging ahead in Donbas. They are ruthlessly exploiting the opportunity of Kiev weakening their Donbas strength to make serious gains.

If the Ukrainian strikes on energy facilities in Russia are considered to be significant successes, how do they compare with the massive scale of Russian strikes on energy facilities in Ukraine ? It doesn't seem logical or fair to lay Bakhmut as Syrsky's feet. Zaluznyi was the supreme commander & would have had final say, especially in an area that was the focal point at the time, in particular, since the case is being made that Syrsky is a chain of command type guy. I suspect Syrsky being born in Russia is part of why he's disliked so much. The fact his mother is in Russia even gave me pause.

The military operation in the Kursk Region has only postponed the inevitable capitulation of the Kiev regime on Russia's conditions, Australian international politics expert Tony Kevin told a TASS correspondent. He believes that the Ukrainian armed forces' incursion intended to pull Russian troops away from the major Donbass frontline and put the Kremlin into panic mode, but that did not happen. "In this war of attrition, the Ukrainians have taken heavy losses of experienced soldiers transferred from the Donbass front which they can ill afford. Russia has not had to transfer forces to Kursk from the central Donbass front," the expert pointed out. He noted that Kiev also failed to "create a good news information narrative of Ukraine taking the ‘fight to the enemy,’ after constant depressing news of the Ukrainian steady retreat on the central Donbass front." He also dismissed as "fantasy" all hopes about "Ukrainians digging into its captured area for possibly months, essentially cordoned off and left relatively contained by Russian forces north of Suzhda." "Talk of a possible advance to the functioning Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, 50 km north of the frontier and somewhat closer to Suzhda, cannot be taken sufficiently seriously. Meanwhile, during these three weeks since the incursion began, Russia has continued to gain ground and occupied more human settlements, with greater speed of advance, on the central Donbass front. This front is now moving forward several kilometers daily, and approaching the strategically located rail junction city of Povrovsk," Kevin stated. The expert noted that Ukraine's actions in Kursk, which have been shrouded in controversy from the very beginning, are being increasingly criticized both by Kiev's Western allies and by the Ukrainians themselves. "The Kursk incursion has, in this observer’s opinion, only delayed the inevitable: a negotiated surrender by the Kiev regime or whatever regime replaces it, under terms decided by Russia," Kevin concluded.

It's amazing how people have completely forgotten about Ukraine's failed summer offencive in 2023. The media hyped that campaign a lot, however unfortunately nothing positive came from it. Now all the focus is on the Kurst incursion, with no mention of the collapsing defence front lines in Ukraine. What's the point of convincing people that Ukraine can win this war when it's so clear that Ukraine is completely out gunned? Russia has more advanced fast jets, most people aren't even aware that the F16 is not an air superiority fighter jet. The F15s were designed for air superiority against Chinese and Russian flagship fast jets. Ukraine has no chance of imposing air superiority with F16s against SU family and Mig family. At some point Russia will steam role Ukraine, it's inevitable.

The civil war aspect of the conflict in the Ukraine: the Wild division of Donbass, which consists exclusively of Ukrainians, now with Russian citizenship, is liberating Russia from Ukrainians under the control of the Kiev regime. Sea infantry from Crimea, most ex-Ukrainian citizens, are inflicting serious damage to Ukrainians who invaded Russia. Very few ppl know this and therefore, in simplistic terms, call the conflict "Russo-Ukrainian war".

Update on your three-days old "latest". As was expected from the start of the US/UK/Ukrainian BRILLIANT operation in Kursk : Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky reported to Zelensky that the Pokrovsk Front had collapsed. To contain the Russian army in Donbass, it is necessary to stop or limit the Kursk operation, calling for sending some units to Pokrovsk and Selidovo. Zelensky refused, reports the Ukrainian TG channel "Resident" with reference to its sources.

It's BS as usual. Weil, Zelenskyy already wasted up to 7,000 of his best troops on this failed Kursk PR misadventure while vital positions at the actual front are rapidly crumbling. Zelenskyy and his minion Syrsky are stuck as usual with this lunacy. Zelenskyy is obsessed with media hype and creating a narrative stuff. It happened so many times before in Bakhmut, Krinki and with publicly announced failed Zelenskyy offensive in 2023. Syrsky for months launched wave after wave of suicidal attacks in a futile attempt to recapture Bakhmut. After this debacle he got a nickname "butcher" among Ukrainian soldiers according to Forbs. They are simply incapable of learning from past mistakes.

Oil burning probably doesn't do much to save the railways at Prokovsk. If anything , this will just upset india and china , who need that oil. Not that I care.Because I use electric transportation.

Akhmat special force commandos in the Kursk Region have several times clashed with mercenaries speaking German and Polish and all of them were been liquidated, the chief of a commando squad known by his callsign, Kashtan (Chestnut), has told TASS. "We’ve met foreign mercenaries here. There were Germans and some Poles. When we clashed with them in combat and heard them speak to each other, we realized that they were foreigners. Among those we have taken prisoner they are no such militants. This means that they have been liquidated," Kashtan said. Earlier, it was reported that over the past few days Kashtan’s men captured eight Ukrainian military in the Kursk Region and destroyed two enemy groups. Russian FPV-drones hit one US-made Stryker and two Hummer vehicles.
