You might know her from Absolutely Fabulous, the iconic sitcom she starred in alongside Jennifer Saunders, from her travel documentaries, or simply from her unmistakable voice.
But Joanna Lumley is also a vocal campaigner for a host of good causes and works with around 50 charities to do with children, education, the environment and animal welfare.
The Telegraph’s most seasoned interviewer Mick Brown joined us in the studio to tell us more about his chat with The Dame herself.
Joanna Lumley: ‘I never minded people wolf-whistling. I always thought that was tremendous’

Joanna Lumley is an absolute star. A true and honest lady amongst a rabble of filth.

Joanna Lumley reminds me so much of Queen Elizabeth. No one will try to say anything to offend her. People just automatically have a silent reverence for her. And she is worthy of it.

What a strange interviewer - it seemed he was more interested on pushing his point of view than actually doing an interview

Like Joanna I am with her..hail to the wolf whistles. I'm glad I am of the generations where we wondered what was wrong if we passed a building site without being whistled at. It was enough to make us think to go home perhaps to change our cloths, perhaps a little shorter skirt.😅

I am of the same generation and hated creepy old men interrupting my day, guess I was just ahead of my time, and other morons just liked being abused.

My ex bumped into Joanna Lumley and an elderly friend 'squiffy' at the Grove hotel, she asked my ex where something was etc and they chatted for ages, she said JL was just so genuine and funny and nice... glass of 'poo' in her hand all the time also ;)

So sad that people are such hyper-sensitive snowflakes now. Sadder still is that they’re not smart enough, don’t have the critical thinking skills to understand SATIRE. Making fun of stuff/people/habits/situations is not only FUN, it makes one THINK. people today just can’t be bothered to do that.

Comedy is in the main bloody awful these days because of the whole "snowflake, someone will get offended brigade". God they've made the world dreary. . And as for things like wolf whistling being soooo bad, it really wasn't. I liked it. 😅

It is ironic that someone as intelligent as she is and so concerned about the wellbeing of humanity continues to smoke.

I've never known a format as stupid as this, where they keep interrupting the interview to discuss it. Do it after or just don't bother.

Shame she had to endorse and help promote Philip Scofield with his dreadful desert island programme.
