Great video, I read about the Tsunami years ago, you need to publish your videos. I have watched your videos from when you started on the East coast, Glad to see you are continuing on your voyage.

+dtonvista Hey! We really want to make one condensed docco - thats our goal this year - enter it in a few film festivals! We'll see how we go! Just have one more video to make from last season before I can get started!

Such an interesting story about the tsunami there. Superlative filming and narrative. Those baths must be so welcome after being on a boat.

OMG those prawns!!!! As soon as I saw them I imagined tempura prawns, or prawn cocktail. I didn't think of prawn omelet... And that salmon! Really cool that you can catch that stuff. Lovely video. Thanks
@user-gd7kc6mv1j9 жыл бұрын
+two skippers ha ha ha!! When you don't have a fridge / freezer you have to think of imaginative ways to eat the prawns for every meal of the day so they don't go to waste!! Prawn omelet was delicious!!
@TwoskippersSailing9 жыл бұрын
+wwwYachtTeleportCom I will take you word on that. Though I think I would prefer tempura prawns with sweet chilly dipping sauce for every meal of the day ;-)

Another great video! I've read about that bay with the wave, thought one boat sunk. My first spring was 19lbs. 8oz. never caught one that big since.
@user-gd7kc6mv1j9 жыл бұрын
+theislandpackrat Yeh there were three boats - we only told the story of one boat because we didn't want the story to go on forever. One boat sank and all the crew died, another boat sank but all the crew survived and one boat (and crew) survived. Amazing story!! Would have been so scary!

I was just saying to my wife that you seem to have discovered a kind of paradise land. And in the next couple of shots you got free baths, food hanging off the trees and hot springs surrounded by mountains, confirming my suspicions about the paradise thing. We'll be anxious to hear more of your adventures when you "upgrade".
@user-gd7kc6mv1j9 жыл бұрын
+Better than it was (sailing Boukadoura) Alaska (in the summer) really is a paradise!! We absolutely love it and I'm sure we'll miss it and reminisce about it for years to come. Till we sail back there with our bigger stronger boat that is!

You guys shoud add a little cooking segment to your updates. Mostly on how to prep some of this sea food like the prawns. I have done a lot of cooking in my years, but not much prep of fresh right out of the earth.
@jesstaunton52879 жыл бұрын
+Jerry Harlan Hi Jerry! Thanks for your comments!! You're right, we should do a little segment on how we do some of the cooking... but most of the time, we don't really know what we are doing, and we don't have google out there so we are just guessing and erring on the side of causion! I'm sure if we filmed what we were doing, we would find out we were doing it all wrong, but that in itself is useful information to know!

Very enjoyable... I think I would be more then worried by the risk of bears, whilst roaming about the forests.. :) Btw - when using Moby tracks to go with this video.... Does that cause any problems with copyright... I uploaded a test clip some time ago, and youtube auto spotted the track, and told me it could not be something I could earn revenue from... Not that is what I'm trying to do.... But I would like some good music on my videos... Thanks in anticipation of a reply...
@user-gd7kc6mv1j9 жыл бұрын
+john wheatley Hi! Thanks for your comment! I request my Moby music from the Mobygraits website and they allow you to use it, like you already mentioned, as long as you're not earning revenue (and a few other clauses, like your not a business.) KZbin will send you email email telling you, that they know it's a Moby track and that you can't advertise on the video. It's amazing music for us independent film makers, as you probably know it's always hard to find the right music for videos!
@john3Lee9 жыл бұрын
+wwwYachtTeleportCom Thank you, I really appreciate your answer... Your choice of music is superb for your videos. I need to do some more research.... For the short film I'm working on, I might buy a licence from the "Music bed", but so far I have been reluctant to do that just for short test videos. Very best regards to you both.... :)
@user-gd7kc6mv1j9 жыл бұрын
+john wheatley Another place I use often is audiojungle.net/ each track is about $30 but they have some great music and you can us them for work!
@john3Lee9 жыл бұрын
+wwwYachtTeleportCom Ok - I'll have a look at that link... $30 is quite reasonable if it completes the project with the right soundtrack... Thanks again... :)

If the month does not have an R in it, they are more likely to be poisionous. AKA only eat shellfish during months with an R in them. Due to Red Tides being more prevalent in the warmer months.

+Mike Johnston Bummer!! I wish google existed on the sail boat sometimes!! At least we survived and now know for next time!
@thakidistight9 жыл бұрын
Haha I was gonna say, you survived, so Im sure it was fine. Also if you bleed the salmon immediately, Ive found you get the best flavor out of the fish. That was a beauty of a salmon for your first one! Happy sailing, I hope to get out there myself soon.

What kind of video camera do you use. I noticed you were able to zoom. I had a go pro but prefer something more traditional. Thanks for your posts. Jean, S/V Carmela, a Cal 2-27 in San Francisco Bay.
@user-gd7kc6mv1j8 жыл бұрын
Hi Jean, thanks for writing to us! We use our DSLR videos to film, so Chris uses the Canon 1DX and I use the 7DMKII with the 200-400mm and 100-400mm for the wildlife and 16-35mm or 24-105mm for the wide angle stuff. We also use gopros! Hopefully we'll see you out on the water! Thanks for watching our videos!

It time to upgrade your Canon 1dx for the 1dx mark 2 ?
@user-gd7kc6mv1j9 жыл бұрын
+Star Light Just got the canon 5DSR (50 megapixel) .... but don't tempt me with the 1dx mkII
@user-gd7kc6mv1j9 жыл бұрын
+Star Light visit www.ChrisBray.net and sign up to our news letter (only about 4 a year) but we are always reviewing new gear... this is what Chris wrote about the 5DSR for our last newsletter...Canon recently released the two highest resolution DSLR’s ever created, the 50.6 megapixel EOS 5Ds and 5DsR, and loaned me the latter to test on wildlife for our recent Galapagos, Amazon & Hummingbird photo safari. The results are amazing, and so I've just bought one! With 50.6 MP, you crop in a lot further, or print out huge with super-fine detail!While rumour has it you would need a tripod to prevent camera shake at that resolution, I shot hand-held and they were pin-sharp, likely a combo of the new ‘Mirror Vibration Control System’ and a well-stabilised lens. ISO only goes up to 6,400 and zoomed right in the noise is more visible than the same ISO on my EOS-1D X, but when zoomed back out to regular resolution, the noise all but vanishes.
