Great video, guys. But would it be possible to do it without the constant background music next time?

Between the music and the bird tweeting, I could barely understand them!

@@Jay_J Agreed! :) The music is totally unnecessary and a distraction - I thought I'd left another KZbin window open.

Great discussion! How about a follow-up with the technical details of the different designs--Plössel, Erfle, orthoscopic, etc.--and the good and bad points of each?

Awesome video, I've been an active amateur astronomer since 1976 when my parents gave me a Criterion RV-6. I can never get enough of telescopes and eyepieces and make make my yearly pilgrimage to the NEAF convention in Rockland County. It was great fun hanging with you guys I enjoyed it so much I subscribed! Wishing you Clear Skies.

Horrible too loud background music.

Very good presentation Lowering the volume on the background music will help. You next talk should include exit pupil of telescopes and eyepieces. Also the human Eye is not a Camera. The human needs it’s own set of parameters. Having a 6 inch F/15 refractor to view the planets with is a game changer. We also have installed a 6 inch F/15 refractor at a Observatory and it is fast becoming the preferred scope for Planets and Lunar and Solar using a Lunt white light solar filter. The detail on solar sunspots is amazing as is the moon. Routinely powers of 480 are used. When Purbach’s X around first 1/4 moon at 478 power is awesome

For a laugh, put on the auto generated subtitles/closed captions.

Tried that because the music and the bird chirping drowned out the dialog, but it was totally butchered!

I have an old Coulter F4.5 Telescope with an 8" mirror. It came with a 27mm eye piece. Would getting a wider eye piece such as a 32mm be TOO wide for this scope? Their is a maximum field of view depending on the telescope, i believe.

I would start with low power an work my way up. Currently have a Panoptic 41, Nagler 31, Panoptic 27, Ethos 21, 17, 13, 10, 8 with my C9.25 I've only had cause to pull the 8 out once.

Hi guys. I'm about to get a set of 9mm eyepieces for my APM 70 ED and APM 100 ED binoculars. And I wonder which you would recommend of the Tele Vue - 9 mm Nagler and the Baader Morpheus 9mm?

Thanks for the very informative video! What do you think about the Baader zoom mark iv? I am an astronomer with an 10 inch f5 dob. I only have the most basic of eyepiece collections and I want to get one that can give me a range of magnifications......should I consider it? Thanks in advance!
