Also a great strange song…Train to nowhere, woowww blew my mind, I don’t recognize this rythym really what it is, country blues? Well another trip with Hellbound train and a lot more. Then broke up and I found that everybody except Kim Simmons formed Foghat a heavy boogie, rock, blues band with a lot of power and hits…Lonesome Dave beacame really awesome, rhythm heavy guitar with Berry riffs…and a great slide player…gave a lot for years…Foghat with full stadium. I saw them at backstage at LA, they played inside the dressing room to warm up before the show, we could listen them outside the dressing room like if we were at a party garage band…I saw in the middle 70’s Savoy Brown with Kim Simmons, great English blues at sunset Blvd. The ladies loved his long blonde hair. Lucky enough to see Savoy Brown in 1970. Lead-in to Fleetwood Mac. Fantastic show. Top ten easily among shows I attended.

I have the double cd complete Savoy Brown. I think there are 4 songs from Street Corner Talking on it. Love that album.Bands have a hard time making music that good anymore. Youngsters will say I'm a no nothing old fart if I don't like hip hop or Taylor Swift.

man i love it!!! I bought this album in 1974 when i was 15 years old. I still have that album today..didnt know anything about Savoy Brown at that time but turns out i really liked their music..I listened to Foghat a lot in the seventies and then found out lonesome dave tony stevens and roger earl came from Savoy Brown....rock n roll

I wish this version of the band featuring Jackie Lynton on vocals had released at least one more album. But record sales were slipping and Simmonds broke the band up and formed Boogie Brothers (w/ Miller Anderson and Stan Webb). Only for the record label to release them as Savoy Brown (lasted one album and tour). RIP Paul Raymond and Kim Simmonds.

That's such an underrated record. Too bad there's no footage of the Dave Walker lineup. I know there's one live show I had from 1974...the cover is the bad thing about Boogie Bros it's terrible

I believe this is the first time I’ve seen a Gibson LP played upside down. Also Dave Lonesome Preverett was a talent player. I really dug his work with Foghat.

@@curtisphilumalee1447 Yep might as well ditch the pick guard. That isn't Dave, he didn't play lefty and had already gone off to Foghat anyway. Kind of looks like him tho.

I knew Dave didn’t play left handed. I was thinking Dave was playing that Gold Top. It sure looks like him. Did he move on to Foghat by this time ? I did start following Foghat until their Fool for the City album came out.

My Dad introduced me to Savoy Brown, back when I was 14. That was 1972. I was into rock n roll already, but had never heard of them, as they werent played on the radio much. Wasnt long before they were a fave of mine, too. Crankin em on the 8 track, while cruisin in his old pickup truck, & smokin a doobie! I like them just as well today, as I did all those years ago... Really brings back some memories too. I could say, on the one hand, those were happier, more carefree times, & the music reflected that. A time when you could blast your 8 track goin down the road, and not count on getting pulled over & silenced, when you could grow your hair long, & put on your love beads, & be a total weirdo, & not get totally cancelled by society. But on the other hand, man were we paranoid, whenever we lit up! (As they'd really throw the book at ya, back then, even for a little bit of weed) But we kept doing it anyway... Seems we all needed it, somehow. And the music was a reflection of the personal liberation we were all seeking. Summed up in the lyrics of this song - "Because this life I lead, has got me sick thru & thru"... Tho it wasnt all sweetness & light, surely. Some mistakes made, some causes for regret, but the changes, on some level, were sorely needed by our generation, nonetheless.

My first concert in 72-73 was a triple bill: Savoy Brown, Long John Baldry and the original Fleetwood Mac.
@daddyboy35467 ай бұрын
YES!!! I saw that same bill in Honolulu in March of ‘72. But not quite the original FMac. No Peter Green or Jeremy Spencer. Danny Kirwan, Mick Fleetwood and John and Christine McVie and Bob.Welch were the version that year. All 3 bands were excellent. Most of what was once a band called Chicken Shack was on that stage-2 or 3 members of Savoy Brown and Christine McVie were all in that group.
