You and Layla are so sweet together! I have 4 married adult kids in their 30s, and they all have 2 cats except...my second, who has 4. We are a cat family. When they were growing up, I never bought a cat, but I would feed any strays who came to our rural home in the woods, and twice a mommy cat decided to have kittens under our porch...without us knowing about it. I had all of them neutered or spayed and gave away most of the kittens, but we still had an awful lot of cats. That was a long time ago. One by one all of my cats passed away, and now I travel so much that I don't have any. But I get to love all of my kids' cats! Thanks for sharing your life with Layla. She is one lucky kitty to have a person who loves her so much!

Just in case you didnt already know; you can get a harness and leash for your cat. It works great. My own cat loves to go for walks outside and it's the only way I feel safe letting her out of the apparent.

I have two tuxedo boys! Ive had them since they were born but one of them is just bonded to me way more than the other. He cuddles with me, lets me pick him up, meows for treats, lets me rub his belly, etc. I love seeing someone go through an adoption process because they found a cat thats SO PERFECT and the way you treat her is so special!

Thank you for explaining how you adopted Layla! The dog rescue that I volunteer for does it the same way because we are completely foster based and don’t have a physical building to house the rescued pups. Each weekend we hold adoption events where the foster parents bring the puppies or dogs and the public is able to meet them, speak with the foster parent(s), and learn how to apply to adopt them! Have you thought about short term kitten or cat fostering when you get your own place?

I'm so glad that you explained in detail why it looks like Layla gets treats all the time. It makes sense that we never get the whole picture when so much stuff is actually left out of the video. I subscribed because in the morning it always makes me smile before I start my day. I have had so many cats (and dogs) over my lifetime, all were rescued or feral and somehow found my house, my cats were like “hey there’s food and warm beds and free pets here”, come check it out. But my Spikee boy was a 21 pound Maine coon we rescued as a kitten at a kill shelter. I started handling him, upside down, playing with his feet, brushing him, you name it. He loved it. You remind me of how in love I was with Spikee. My friends would call and ask if I was home so they could come see Spikee!! Seriously it cracked me up. He lived to 17 and I treasure every day I had him. I loved my other cats too, but Spikee was kinda like Layla.

I would love to virtually give that girl all the pets & cuddles. I LOVE cats but I'm literally the only person in the family who does and being in a similar situation (living with family) - I have to make compromises and just take our three dogs. I love them, they're quirky little buds but... any time I see a cat around I wish I could just pet it. And hug it. so PLEASE do give her all the pets for me!
