Very helpful video! I was VERY nervous about sharing my decision with my family and closest friends. I started with my husband and he helped me “practice” the conversation with others. I framed each conversation based on how you outlined- here’s what I’ve been experiencing….the person that I was most concerned about because she’s opinionated about everything surprised me the most by being very supportive. And it was my mom who had most reservations and asked me to reconsider. I didn’t become emotional or judgmental of her concerns instead I offered her understanding and validated her feelings while confirming my decision. I provided her with some of the video’s on the procedure and resources that helped me become educated. I found that when she understood a little more she came around pretty quickly. Ultimately I had to decide this was one time in my life that I had to please myself and not worry about the feelings of others. As I approach my 2 year surgiversary (10/31) I’m thrilled with my decision and appreciate my friends and family’s support. 🥰

Thank you so much for your comment! That was my experience as well. I had a close friend that I was concerned would be not supportive and they were just the opposite, and one family member who questioned me the most came on board when she saw how determined I was and was educated. I am glad we both made the decision we did!

I opted to not tell anyone besides my husband, mom and a close friend who had it done years ago. It was best in my situation. I did not want to deal with the explanations and negative feedback I know some of them always have. It worked well for me. 😊

I am glad that you found what worked for you! There are some people that are always going to be negative, unfortunately 😒
