Just done compresser resistance readings at TAFE, first year mature apprentice - great to see it explained so well in the field. Would love to see more concepts like these next year. No worries at all mate. One thing I can tell with absolute certainty is, they teach you perfect conditions in the text book. However as you saw with the good compressor, its resistance readings weren’t 100% what they tell you in the textbook. Close enough is generally good enough. For example, I only take notice of the first number on the multimeter when checking resistance (1.3uf I read as 1uf). I’m still learning every day mate. Good luck and merry Xmas!

@isha8060 I'm 34 and left a decent career to start an apprenticeship with an air con install company back in March. Was a huge change of field and a big pay cut but I've never been happier.

How to calculate the size of an air conditioning . Can u tell me pls

Hard to tell you without showing you but a very basic rule of thumb is (room (m2) x 150) = watts heat load

So u mean length times width times 150 =to kilowatts of the unit

@@Ahsan-zh2ou so a 3m x 6m room would be, 3x6=18sq metres 18 x 150= 2700watts This means you would need a 2.7kW unit.

@@Ahsan-zh2ou definitely not mate. This is a very basic way of working out a rooms heat load. If it is more then one room or a commercial situation then there’s many other things to take into consideration. Amount of people, how much air flow etc.
