Tempest 3000 first few levels

After all the Space Giraffe chitchat recently, I dug this out for another session & captured a bit of video properly this time. Please advise of poor skillz via the traditional mechanism... (and no, I confess I didn't know about Hover when I recorded this... the shame)

Thanks. This version only showed up on Nuon (pretty rare DVD addon chip) but you can get a basic re-release of the original on xbox360

there is definitely something strange about the nuon graphics that make it look "fuzzy" but the overall effect is pretty cool on a big screen.

@therealKINDLE Um... the song from the first few levels was directly from the Temepst 2000 soundtrack CD Atari produced. It was written by the same guys that made the original soundtrack of the game, to boot.

Its the Tempest 2000 soundtrack! :D I have that CD and I listen to it a lot! But aside from that, this game REALLY WILL give you seizures if you can't endure the psychedelic graphics, neon lights and camera movements so play with caution.

This version of Tempest also has more songs that aren't seen in the T2K soundtrack, which is cool.

@HoneycombAgent um, it's kind of chilled. You have to navigate through all the accelerating hoops but it's very intertial controls and it's all slightly ... unusual.

@whosyourbuddy100 Yeh you have a valid point there man. Music in computer games is totally crap nowa days because of so many reasons. But the main issue is the fact that the format is a direct plagerism of Radio sets. I've tried telling the Big companies "THIS IS A DIFFERENT FORMAT.. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A 5 MINUTE TRACK LOOPED over & over again". But do they listen? Do they Fuck. IF I was in charge of the Music for a Computer game, I Turn the whole Media on it's Head! But Silence is better. ;)

@atarian2049 Yeh Alistair Lindsey, Ian Howe, Julian Hodgson & Kevin Saville. Lindsey is now head of SONY EUROPE's Music Dept. The CD was made first, but there was No Room for the CD Quality Tracks on the Game so they had to Re-Compose them in Module Files but even then they only had room for 7 Tracks. But those Versions of the Tracks Pack much more punch due to the Lofi Compress used on the Drum Samples they used. Sorry! I know far too much about this nonsense!

There’s an emulator called Nuance, the original author sadly passed away but someone picked it up again last year and released a new build. There’s a video by Carsten Waechter DE, of t3k running on it.

You can't even troll well. First, video games have been about blowing people's heads off for 20 years (Wolfenstein 3D came out in 1992). Second, you posted that in 2011 and the release date of Halo 4 is November 6, 2012. Having said that, to anyone else reading this post: I like both trippy and realistic games. Today I played Crysis 2 and Polybius and enjoyed them both.

Yeh I've tried but it just doesn't have the same feel. There's just something inhenrantly different about Atari that cannot be manufactured. Even by the Mighty Microsoft! Plus, musci has taken over so much of my life recently & I have little time to play computer games. I'm currently Remastering the TK2 Soundtrack for a fan as we speak! And by the way, I agree that the "Quality" of the Mod Files were pretty Bad in Places, but that's Why I went back, & RE-MASTERED the Whole Lot from the Jaguar Soundtrack. Look up "Tempest 2009" or go to it under my Videos to see how in this case, the MODULE Tracks were 'Better' than the CD Version! Honest, they were SICK Drums man!

There aren't "Normal games" Those are all of a diffrent genere This si a classical shooter GTA Is a third person shooter/simulation Fallout three is an RPG/FPS Callofduty is a FPS (First person shooter)

Maybe. I noticed you commented on one of the T2000 vids that the Jag was your favourite console because nothing since had the same arcade vibe. Get an xbox & have a look on xbox live arcade. You may find things aren't so bad these days.
