It looks promising.. but I'm also getting that RA3 goofiness vibe from it. I'm just glad that you can actually have some sort of dialogue with your CO. Silent Protagonist has never been my style. Also can't wait to play as the other guys.

Stumbled on an article about this and tried the demo, was fantastic. Nice to see this getting some coverage. EA seems to have abandoned C&C and this is so far everything great about old C&C in a modern wrapper. Down to the cheesy, wonderful cinematic vids.

Thankyou Arrekz 🙏 Its been a long time since the last command and conquer release, for sure this is a C&C game in all but name 🤔 it looks amazing considering that its not officially a part of the C&C franchise, also seems like they've had to ensure not to use trademark material from the series (no gdi or nod references, etc, same general colour scheme and character though), I'll be playing this for sure 🤘

This looks so much like C&C which is EXCELLENT. would be great if you could make custom maps like you could with CnC too, i forget what the program was called to make them but it was pretty easy and great fun. I can`t wait for this. CnC never really needed to be changed much just better graphics,unit updates and more maps. then EA came along and messed it up. I have high hopes for this, dont let me down. AFFIRMATIVE.

The good guys are called Global Defence Force, and the bad guys are the Tempest. Well aside from Tempest, the GDF is basically GDI even the logo is similar

looks ok but to place itself near the top 2 mentioned it needs to support: mods, map making, custom unit making, more zoom-out range for better tactical view, have a nice variety and uniqness of the factions, needs to have a forum where player feedback is taken into account, updates, BIG maps, skirmish with variety of AI difficulties and behavior, single player campaign, multiplayer with like 6v6 maps etc! :) Fopr reference everything BAL (beyon All Reason) already has which is currently probably the top RTS out there and OPENRA (2023 version of C&C, Tib Sun, RA2 etc..) which is the direct fanmade replacement of C&C. If you check these 2 games alone you will find that the latter is quite high already so GL I will try the demo definitely. Regards from C&CTib Sun and Total Annihilation modder ;) .. A few more questions: are all unit customizable, upgradeable, do we have a tech tree to choose armour vs shields vs firepower or different tech. and so on. Can units rank up? Can towers rank up? Can towers be upgraded etc. I and many who play RTS games are basically not big fans of rotating 3D views etc. Zoom in and out is a must. Confusing 3D rotation is a big NO. This seems to be locked in the right angle.

As a detail snob I feel that this is a rehash of what came before when it comes to graphics. It looks to me like C&C3 with a reshade thrown on top of it. Not good enough graphically speaking in 2023. I've expected much higher asset quality. This game looks like it came out of the mid to late 2000s. Gameplay looks fun though.

I used to say RTS that blatantly copies other RTS mechanics without shame is the thing to avoid. But at this point, looking at how scarce the number of RTS game out there, i'll take any RTS game i can.

This looks as something on its own. It doesn't look like a C&C replacement. Something about the gameplay feels floaty, and it isn't as goofy as C&C. I haven't played Starcraft, so I really can't say anything about it. All I know is that SC is more competitive multiplayer focused. What made C&C great was its focus on an immersive Singleplayer campaign. The difference between the GDF looking armored and official, while Dynasty soldiers look like Red Alert soviets with a Nod color palette makes them look less developed when they, according to Fisher in the cutscene and the map, should be owning tons of fields to harvest. These might seem like small things, but aggregated, they make this game different enough from C&C. Will still play it, but won't be the "next C&C" for me, but another RTS to experience, and hopefully it can find its own niche.

I was interested then I noticed that it has a pop cap. That was the worst feature of the abomination known as tiberian twilight. If they drop the pop cap or offer the option to turn it off I'll be interested

twilight's pop cap was bad because it was too low, there are many RTS with pop cap, such as company of heroes 2, one of the excellent RTS

stop crying about pop cap - C&C 4 had almost no problem of it if u know how to play - in campaign would be cool if would a bit more (or just ballanced AI) - just proove me why pop cap is worst feature?)) , interesting for me! units spam killed the C&C 3 pvp cause its imposible to play it normally without loosing some nerves - if units in C&C 4 would deal way more damage than the do in current C&C 4 state - the pop cap would make it even more ballanced and would be enough The problem of campaign was not in pop cap mostly but in a technologies which u didnt unlocked yet - on the second campaign run with some nice technologies unlocked u can win missions with ease Fun fact: The C&C 4 engine can easly run 1000 units on the map if u will have fun with cheat engine for testing compare to C&C 3 trash engine which causes game to lag if you have lots of units on the screen
