Khadgar cajoled us into letting a reckless, self-absorbed, entitled, whiny little emo elf into leading the fight against the Legion, sat by while he brought the demon’s planet closer to Azeroth AND when said emo killed the prime Naaru because “wah I like cutting myself for power”…and then washed his hands like Pilate after said emo’s actions (as usual) led to consequences that tore apart the nations of Azeroth! Badgar should go back to Outland if this is what he does to “help”

​I'm not saying the game is dead. WoW has done very well in sustaining an active playerbase over many years. There have been many supposed 'WoW killers' that have popped up, but none of them have really done the job. The only game that has perhaps made some players jump ship during recent times is Final Fantasy XIV, but WoW is of course still bigger.
