So this whole album was a tribute to Andrew Wood who was the lead singer of a band called Mother Love Bone.

Eddie was hanging with the guys--said Chris was like a big brother to him--and saw that Chris was having trouble singing the low parts. So he hopped in and started singing, Chris loved it, and the rest is history.
@ShininDaysАй бұрын
i doubt he was having "trouble" maybe he wanted something different but Chris can go quite low with his voice so i doubt he couldn't do that part

Everyone is going to suggest Say Hello 2 Heaven... but if you want to listen to them for a long time, Reach Down is the jam from this album. Its not the most hyped album of the grunge bands, but its solid from start to finish.

Hi Millie! There’s an overlooked band from that genre/era that gets little love: Candlebox - “You” is a good introductory track. Peace.
@ZyggyZero4 ай бұрын
@@jetblackstonecold Candlebox are from Seattle. As far as moving here to cash in on grunge: The same can be said of a lot of people who didn’t even have bands. No one is going to force you to watch if Millie checks out Candlebox. Noticed that you had no ideas of your own, just the ability to knock others.

Eddie really only appears on this song. But the other songs are great. Temple of the Dog is basically Pearl Jam with Chris and Matt. But now Matt has been in Pearl Jam since 1998.

The entire LP is worth a listen; it is essentially a tribute to Andrew Wood, the lead singer of Mother Love Bone, another Seattle band that was founded by future Pearl Jam members Stone Gossard (guitar) and Jeff Ament (bass) who play on the Temple LP. Wood ODd on heroin.

Millieeeee!!! So good to see you. Thanks for this reaction. Love your enthusiasm. Dear Millie, Eddie is the legendary and unique voice of the awesome Pearl Jam. That album, “Ten”, all of them songs, all of them! Amazing! React to “Jeremy”; for sure it will make you cry, especially because of what we went through in school. Yes, dear, me too. But we are here, strong and happy. Have a great weekend, Millie! Much love and peace to you 👋🏽😀

Yeah they put out a whole album also called "Temple of the Dog" & this was in fact the biggest hit from it. But it's a good album, if you like both Soundgarden & Pearl Jam.

At the time drummer Matt Cameron was only the drummer for Soundgarden. However, he would eventually be the full time drummer for both Soundgarden & Pearl Jam.

This was a collaboration between Pearl Jam and Soundgarden members. Both bands had their own albums done in the studio and ready for release (Pearl Jam's Ten) and this came out before even Nirvana had hit it big. I was 21 and this was the FIRST "grunge" song I remember getting on the airwaves.

The movie SINGLES came out right around this time introducing people to the "Seattle sound" lifestyle with Bill Pullman, Bridget Fonda, and Matt Dillon.

I get goosebumps every time I hear this song and I was around when this was new. My understanding was Eddie and Chris were neighbors and Chris asked Eddie to tag along. This was basically Eddie introduction to the rest of the members that eventually became Pearl Jam.

I don't know much about you yet but if you're taking requests I recommend listening to something from My Chemical Romance. The obvious song to start with aside maybe start with something small and be blown away by the anthem when you hear it. "Bury me in Black" to start!
