Although I agree the majority of boxes seem to have 3 IRs, it's certainly not guaranteed. Danny Phantump showed the breakdown of 21 booster boxes and 2 of the 21 only had 2 IRs.

I'm super annoyed A-Specs have such poor pull rates. These are playing cards, not collecting cards. What is wrong with these people?!

That's probably actually a great rarity as far as playability goes. You can only use one ace spec per deck, so you can transfer them to decks you are playing. That and how many packs does it take to make a deck? If it was like one in 5 packs, that is only 55 cards. Not enough for a deck by any means.

Pokemon not a Collectible Card Game? My friend it's been that way since the beginning. Also 2 per box for a rare card is not bad especially since you can only play one per deck. If you don't want pull them, just go buy them. The most expensive, Counter Catcher is only $32 right now. You can buy every Ace Spec from the set for around $80, less than the price of a booster box, and that amount is likely to go down in the coming weeks.

Not only did I pull the Raging Bolt SIR on my 9th pack, but at prereleases I witnessed someone pull the Iron Leaves SIR and Maximum Belt IN THE SAME PACK 😭

The problem with TCG Players's math for specific cards is that they don't adjust those pullrates for the probability of pulling cards twice or more often which definitely happens due to batching. You could easily multiply their pullrate by around 5 for Ace-specs or HR/SAR.

I thought illustration rares were 3 per box until this set. I have opened 5 booster boxes this set. And 2 of them only had 2 illustration rares. All of them had 2 ace specs. And all had 2 or 3 full arts. I've pulled 1 special illustration rare. And 3 gold cards.

When I look at pull rates I always double it for my luck. So a 1 in 13 for me would be 1 in 26 I’m just that unlucky. So with my luck I would probably have to open 7 booster boxes just to pull a single SIR.

My luck is in the same boat, but don’t count yourself out! The first pack I pulled of TEF was from a pre-release build and battle kit and it was the Gouging Fire SIR. Haven’t pulled anything since. 😭

I’ve been looking for this kind of content buddy I’ve just got my 8 year old son into collecting Pokemon cards. It was his birthday on Sunday and with his birthday money he bought a trainer box set for 45 quid it has nine packs of cards and on his third pack he pulled a raging bolt gold ex card I was gobsmacked 😂 We have sleeved it and does anyone think we should grade it?

I have had similar experiences with this set. KZbinrs were lying out the wazoo with their sample sizing, and it's summariazed pretty much as just being bad sword/shield set mathematically

Wait Ace Specs are 1/20? I pulled 4 of them out of 25 packs (no Prime Catcher though). I figured Ace Specs were just surprisingly common but I guess I just got lucky?
