LOVE DEM! I'm just now getting into the 60th- album, and "It's Growing" on me. Can't stop playing "Calling Out Your Name". But yes I'm old school and my favorite album by them will probably always be the "Temptin Temptations", and yes of course my favorite song WILL ALWAYS BE "My Girl". But truly thankful to God for giving Otis Williams the strength and staying power, in helping him to keep the Temptations around for 60+ years.

I've always loved The Temptations. & Smokey. Wow, beautiful talented skillful amazing group! Met Eddie at Kendricks Record Shop on Fenkell in The D. while riding the bus to Cooley High School. He was extremely sensitive kind and patient with my questions concerning music . What a kind hearted gentleman he was. I'd talk to him about my mom who was a jazz vocalist, well known throughout the Northern regions including Cananda. He was a fan of moms. I stopped by the shop every Wednesday after school for my music conversation. Smokey, I met through his niece, getting a ride to Mumford High School before transferring to Cooley. He would then stop by Pete's house and Bobby's house, who was married to Wanda of The Marveletts. Ill never forget that. Their homes were gorgeous. Pete's, Powder Blue, Bobby's, Lavender. Even the piani was Powder Blur at Pete's house. Wanda was a very jazzy introduction, and off to school we went. You never know who's going to make an impression on your life down the road. I saw Smokey and The Miracles in Concert with Ike & Tina Turner at U of D in 1968. Awesome show. I would then meet The Temptations on the stairwell of P.S. Studios in Chicago, I'll. I was with Bobby Franklin's Insanity, going to do a recording at the time. I was arriving the Temps were leaving Melvin ask me my sign, I answered , he responded in that deep baritone voice. This is when I would walk into a session naively that was taking place with Marvin Yancy and Chuck Jackson, stumbling in, uninvited, but harmonizing from the lyrics being sung, interrupting their session, but being told to keep on singing that girl, ending up recording with them, one of whom wrote Mega Hits for Natalie Cole, their song entitled:"Just As Long As You Need Me, I'll Be Around" by The Independents. Album entitled Leaving Me. I was 17, mom said no way was I traveling on the road with Adult men! That was that! I would go on with my career in singing and again run into The Temps and Tops through a mutual friend (Dale G)in Colorado. They performed great show at The Amphitheater. Mom and I had a great time and even had a little photo session with Otis! Great memories. I'm so proud of the accomplishments made by The Temptations, Smokey and others throughout Motown History! I wish them even much more success as they carry on such a great legacy! Blessings guys to All of you, and thank you for the many memories of some of the greatest sounds played on the radio, that filled our lives with joy!❤⚘💯👑

I LOVE Paul's baritone voice. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but "I Want A Love I Can See" is easily my favorite song from the Temptations. My favorite Tempts album is that first one, "Meet The Temptations" then "In A Mellow Mood" and then "Temptin' Temptations" but I love all the singles pre- The Way you do the Things you do, idk how they didn't connect with the charts! If I need to get ready in a hurry, I will cut on "Romance without Finance" or "Paradise" or "You're the One I Need" and bop around my house with the quickness. lol

Praise God for the expression and recognition of the Temptations at this time in their lives, in honoring the release of their 60th Anniversary album. The comments have been beautiful and inspiring. I was blessed to have gotten on the Temptations band wagon in 1965 when I bought my 1st 45-record "My Baby"(because the record-shop was out of "My Girl" and it was on back-order). I didn't mind too much because on the B-side was "Don't Look Back", so I felt I got a 2-fer and enjoyed both songs. However in this forum I've seen that the *C-5* fan-cult is alive and well. *C-5* stands for The Classic 5 Tempts lineup; David, Eddie, Melvin, Paul, Otis. Yes they're to be recognized in the legacy of the Temptations, but only as the frame-work/1st level of the Dynasty. Which rested on the solid concrete-foundation that was crafted and built by Otis, with the credo that "No 1-person would be bigger than the whole group". He stuck by this belief even in the midst of his Motown stable-mates being all around him; Martha and...., Jr. Walker and..., Diana Ross and...., Smokey Robinson and...., Otis didn't bend. So us as fans should give Honor and Celebrate the Temptations *total* 60+year career legacy and not just the *C-5* Era. Let's also recognize those that followed them, who were/are legendary in their own right, in helping to add hits to the Temptations Repertoire. 😎
