This restaurant has the THICKEST udon I've seen in ALL the videos I've watched and their tempura items also looked DELICIOUS! So, another place I would love to try the food, with the wheat taste and chewy udon that the customers LOVE so much!

Can you tell me what is tempura?
@nancys22122 жыл бұрын
@@tomatocurry It's fish (especially shrimp), veggies used are; carrots, Japanese squash, eggplant, potatoes. Mushrooms, Japanese basil (looks like a tree leaf big and deep green color), lightly boiled egg that has the white of the egg cooked enough to peel the egg but NOT cooked through. I think that's it. ALL these food items are dipped in a 'special' batter (called tempura) and deep fried. The coating stays a very light color but hardly any brown to it. The food is crunchy on the outside but soft and juicy on the inside. I LOVE it, but according to friends and a brother that has been to Japan, it's hard to find good tempura here in the states except in California in a 'real' Japanese restaurant. I hope you get a chance to try it. I understand it's not as easy as you might think to fry it to perfection.

I'm impressed by the user friendly self serve system to ensure freshness even letting you choose down to the type of udon broth. And the respect the customers have for the system. Very Japan.

You can see the disciplined and respect the way they care for the food while preparing it. In other country you will not see this kind of respect while cooking your meal/ food. The customer's, even those kids had so much discipline... Asian people were truly amazing.... 💜💜💜

I hear you! I've never been but watching these videos, if I ever go, I'll be doing a trip just to try eating at all the places I would like to try their specialty dishes! I LOVE noodles over rice any day and tempura and those amazing pork cutlets! But I CAN'T eat the green onions, or any onions, or curry, as I'm allergic to these foods, darn it! But I would love to visit Japan. My brother spent 4 years there near Tokyo (U S Air Force) and traved ALL of Japan and loved the country, foods, and of course the amazing people.

From one nancy to another - out of the way is good, go to a local college and get an English student to take you! Most of the time you'll be glad you did. And try something called "katsudon" and whatever your college kid wants to show you . . . within reason. Enjoy!

@@nancydelu4061 What a WONDERFUL solution to the language, getting around the areas I want to go to, to know the local customs, etc. Would save me a lot of money by not bringing a person with me from the states. I know most college students could use the money too! And I could go to more places with the savings! A win - win for all of us. Thanks again, much appreciated!
