It was wonderful seeing how much you smilled while showing the cat toys😊 You are just an animal lover no matter if it's a dog, cat and who knows what else! I have cats all my life and when my last one passed away it took me a long time to decide I was ready for another one. Everyone wanted to get me a kitten right after she passed and I said I am not ready yet and not sure if I will ever get another. Well, after a long time I was ready and adopted 2 kittens. Oh boy they sure gave me a run for my money and made me laugh so much. Now they are 2yrs old and nothing has changed they are still a joy. I live alone now and can't believe how much company they are so I know I made the right decision to get them, I am 71yrs old now and consider them my kids. Great video😺

I know the feeling of a quiet house once your fur baby has passed. My dog Shadow passed away a year ago in June. By the end of July I was looking for another dog as I have a cat and she was lonely as well and in a August I adopted I adult male black Lab/boarder collie. He could never replace My little man but I’m so glad he came into my life. His story isn’t the happiest but now that he’s in his forever home he a spoiled dog very much love.

Awesome cat needs haul! It will work to have cat scratchers in several places around the house. Yes, we trim our cat's claws. Never have a cat declawed. Polo is probably thinking he's in paradise. We have had cat's all our lives. Right now, we have 6 indoor cats and several that are neighborhood cats. You could try try a few toys for a week at a time, then switch them out for something different. Then Polo won't get overwhelmed. He's a handsome cat and lucky to have such a loving new family. 😊❤

Polo is a handsome boy! You will find that he will most likely gravitate to a certain kind of toy, and he will just forget about the others. As for the scratch pads, our cats actually sleep on the ones we have. I don't know why, but they do. Also, I am not one for yelling at the cats with they misbehave, and I refuse to hit. A water spritzer works for one but not the other. He is naturally a water cat. By accident I discover that canned air works wonders with the other cat. I found this by cleaning my sewing machine, and he fled the room when I sprayed the air. When he misbehave we would just spray canned air into the room. Very effective! Now, all we have to do is say "I am going to get the air can". On the rare occasions, we just show him the can, and on even rarer occasions do we need to spray it. I think it sound like Mama cat hissing. It doesn't hurt them at all, because you spray it in the air not on them. It is the sound that gets their attention. Plus, unlike water, it doesn't mar the furniture or floors. And BTW, if you continually wake Polo up through out the day, he will spend more time sleeping at night, and awake during the day. It take about 2 to 3 days of waking him up, but it will last for several months, and then you do it again. Enjoy!

I'm so happy you got a cat! He's beautiful!I just adopted two black cats (mom and son) from a rescue group after I lost my tuxedo cat after over 15 years😢. I know what you mean about the emptiness after losing Paco! It was that way after I had to put my kitty to sleep and came home. Also when I picked up her ashes and pawprint. I bought lots of toys and things and an adorable bed from Temu (which they won't sleep in😮) I hope you have many happy years with Polo!

A couple of helpful tips for you, darlin', from a crazy cat lady; Yes, you can clip a cat's claws, and yes, they do have a quick that you have to avoid. Thankfully, cat claws are clear, and the quick is visible. You can use regular human nail clippers for more precision while you are getting used to trimming them. If you slowly start to get Polo used to you handling his paws - gentle touches, massaging pawpads, gently manually unsheathing his claws - he will learn to accept trims without fussing or panicking. If he starts scratching specific areas of your furniture, double sided sticky tape is an effective deterrent, and can be removed when he breaks the habit. Sprinkling baking soda on the litter in the box after you clean it helps neutralize the odor, and is safe for feline contact. If you have plants and he takes to digging in them, add paprika or chili powder to the dirt and it will deter him instantly. I bleed for your loss; we can never replace someone we've lost. May your new addition bring new laughter and joy to your house, and help your heart to heal.

I LOVE Polo!!! My cats loved the ball chase thing, and the crinkle balls. Put catnip inside the balls or roll his toys in catnip. They'll play for hours (20 minutes at least) till they zonk out. Just don't give him everything at once. You'll overwhelm a cat. As for bathing a cat, if he never goes outside, and has no fleas, he doesn't need a bath. I love cats so much and have had so many over the years, but sadly, it's too hard for me to care for litter boxes, etc. now. Enjoy every second of that beautiful kitty! I hope you have him for many, many years to come.

Hello Melissa, I love everything you have shown for your cat with Temu. Cats like a lot of playtime with different toys and as far as the cover for can cat food for your cat, never leave cat food in a can. Just saying. Also, get him a scratching post that will save you and Rob furniture. I trained my cat Tulip to not scratch on my furniture. She's well-trained. Raise that finger at him side to side and say no, continue to do that then you will save your furniture. I already know pet owners do things differently than I do. But it's OK. By the way, polo is such a beautiful cat 🐈 .

Hi Melissa. Polo is such a cutie. I laughed when I saw the cat bag to wash him. I saw it on Temu and laughed then too. I would NOT try it on my cat He's nuts. I buy him stuff all the time, I can't resist, even though he doesn't play much with them anymore. It's good to hear you talk about Paco. I miss him in every video. The pics on the wall are beautiful. I have some of my Blue all over my room. He passed away 2 years ago and I miss him every day. We spent 14 years together. Our cat is insane! I just told my brother today that I was thinking about buying him a raised bowl set, but one for dry food and one for canned food. We moved in April and he went outside and loved it, so I bought him a calming collar, with lavender! I hope I can get it on him, then I can put a leash on him and take him outside without worrying about him running away. I bought it on Temu too I also have a collar with a tie and had a hell of a hard time putting it on him but long enough to take a picture. You should check his pic on my facebook page. I clip my cats nails. She tolerates the fronts and the dew claws, then I give her a break and do the backs later. Cats do have a quick in their nails, and you can see it. Just don't cut into that. Then give them a treat. :) Polo is so cute and playful.

Hi Melissa. Polo is so cute, and I love his name. We had a white German Shepherd dag many years ago that we got through a rescue centre, and his name was Polo. One really good tip with cats is, if they don't drink much water, add a teaspoon or two to their wet food, especially if they also eat a lot of dry food. Our vet advised us to do that when we had the cat before the one we have now, as she really almost never drank water. Even though Sparky, the cat we have now, does drink, we still add some water to his food. It made such a difference to our old cats fur, it became more plush and softer. I hope Polo settles down and comes out of his shell soon, I am sure, as soon as he realises he is safe and loved he will be one happy boy. I have 2 rescue cats, Niko and Meoko ( brother & sister), they are now 8 years old. I have clippers to trim their claws. I also have cat toys every where, I put some in a tray, they will get out what they want and bring it to me sometimes. Niko loves his fishing pole, he even drags it around the house. Meoko loves ping pong balls as they are light and fly around easy. I discovered my cats like to drink out of a water fountain instead of a bowl.

When I lost my first dog at 10 months old, yes it was devastating and the house was so empty, after a few weeks I couldn't stand it and found my Cody - his shelter name was Polo! - he's approaching 16 now and doing well. We did lose his brother a month ago and I can tell he's affected. But it's so much easier to still have him here, like you said, someone to greet you ❤

Polo is soooooo sweet ❤. I have a 10 yr old baby named Opal who loves her little orange temu fish so much she sleeps with it lol. I do trim her nails, i wrap her up like a purrito and take one foot out at a time. I am so sorry about Paco :( So glad you chose a cat from the humane society. Most cats sleep upto 12/14 hrs a day & are more active at night. He is beautiful.

Loved you Cat haul. So sorry about Paco. Losing a Fur Baby is the hardest thing to get over. We had a Baby Belle Kitty who we welcomed to our family when she came to our door. We lost her 2 yrs ago & we still miss her everyday. But you & Robert adopting a Kitty as a new member willl definitely help with the loneliness. He’s so very cute & it looks like you will be spoiling him as u did Paco. Welcome to the Video Family Polo! I’ll look forward to seeing more of him . Polo is just so stinking cute! Cats are funny, smart, and sometimes very surprising! But they will fill your heart with laughter and joy every day of your life! Thank you for sharing your new fur baby. Temu has some pretty good cat toys .I was surprised I must admit. And don't use a cat bag... They make waterless shampoo that you just spray it on and rub it in with a towel and brush. They also have cat bath wipes that are great. And if you really want a laugh, get Polo some cat nip bubbles. Very amusing!
