Aside from the slight mishap with the thumbnail (lol) this was an EXCELLENT reading of my story. In my opinion, MCP is one of the best voice actors in the KZbin narrating community. A good reading can elevate a mediocre story, but even a top-tier work cannot rise above a mediocre reading. You're a treasure, MCP. Stay well and keep hitting it out of the park, sir! 🎉💪

I enjoyed the hell out of this story! It's so well paced; it feels like it could've been a movie itself. I liked how real the characters felt, very flawed, but in a good way. You should write audio dramas, no cap. This was very cinematic.

You know...I kinda get it. It wasn't about the money or anything. It was about achieving a dream. He had it right in front of him and it was taken away. A chance to hear his story, see his characters on screen and know that he made it happen. And if he got money out of it, he could buy an award for himself. Nothing as tacky as a golden statue, but just a reminded that sometimes, if only briefly, a dream can come true. Ten pages telling him what his dreams were worth. What's he got left?

This story does something to a person. It divides them, at least for me it did. Because on one hand, when the antagonist explained his side, I totally get where he is coming from, since I am an aspiring musician working at a dead-end job, trying to write masterpieces. So I REALLY rooted for him when the lawyer, director, and others that knew him were killed. BUT when the actress and the rest were dropping the facts of how the entertainment world is cold and will capitalize on anyones hard work if it's within the confines of the law, and he just had to get over it and move forward to make something new, I understood those points, but I also felt like what they said was uncalled for. So I was hoping he'd end up sparing them UNTIL they just straight started calling him a loser. This is an amazing story, standing ovation to this author, and standing ovation to Mr Creepypasta for this amazing narration! (I also have a soft spot for "And Then There Were None". So I started making the connections well before it was referenced)

The Intruder’s motivations are really beautifully written. It’s clear that he never wanted money or success. He wanted the recognition that something he made could be great but he was denied that. He kills Carmine on the spot because after everything he still only sees this as a problem because of money. You look at it like that you really start to realize why their attempts to calm him down, only sent him over the edge because it only validates that none of them are at the top because they care about art. They’re at the top because they were ruthless, selfish and money grubbing. They only see art in the bounds of how successful it can make them. He only spares Carla because she’s a lot like he was before he was robbed. She’s working a job going nowhere, and just wants her chance on the big screen.

It’s fitting that Carla escapes. The intruder wins in the end, in some twisted way. He got what he wanted. The lawyer who threatened him. Dead. The movie people that stole from him. Dead. Elizabeth, who failed to call out everyone else, despite knowing it was shitty? Dead. In the end, the only one who escaped was the only one who did nothing to him, to anybody. An outsider just like him who was dragged into a shitty situation by everyone else. But it can’t be said that she won. The trauma will haunt her forever. The nightmares. The memories. The guilt of being the only one left. The only one who didn’t die deserves it as a mercy

You know, this was one of the first stories that brought out a genuine guttural reaction from me. I’m not saying it’s bad, it was actually quite well written. What I’m talking about is that as the story unfolded, I just felt this growing sickening feeling in my stomach. Like even tho the character’s weren’t the most ‘innocent’ people, the story made it seem like there was no hope for anyone. A theoretical and actual slaughter. Ig it was the human aspect of the story. Like none of the actions could be blamed on a fantastical monster. The story was all about just pure human madness and depravity.

If it's anything like I feel, after getting to his house late, the day he died, I don't have to. Died from a negligent discharge, 4 days before Christmas, my senior year. A close friend shot him. Live with that, as has the other friend almost 31 years. Made peace with it, and stopped trying to drown my demons, 25 years ago. Still miss him dearly, as we were as close as brothers, the three of us. Still hurts like hell. Had a triple whammy that holiday season, mom's heart attack, Frank's passing, and an accident involving a drunk driver, that took my girl and her unborn child. Bright side though. Got another decade with mom, I survived and recovered, and o married my closest friend 17 years ago. Raised her daughter as my own, and tried my best to be a good husband and dad. And at least I know that I pretty much can't have a worse one, without the apocalypse coming.

@@victorhurwitz5559 I know. Have to focus on the good memories. Not always easy, snd not a day goes by that I don't think of them. I try to focus on the last interaction with Frank. Him pulling me adide for an update pn mom, and how we made plans to see her that Saturday. She would have passed hom3off as her son. 10 hours later you know the rest. It was the loss of my girlfriend that almost did me in, but also saved me. Met a few of the recipients, as she was an organ donor. Knowing part of her lives on gave me a reason to keep going. After 5 years, neck deep on the bottle, I got sober. She and my wife were close. We all met at the same place, and had mutual friends. She and I go to her grave on her birthday, and then go to a placd she loved, and talk about her. Also dealing wifh the loss of a limb the last 2 years. Not easy, but I didn't let it break me. And I had an, incident?, in the ICU. A visitor early one moring. Blonde woman in her mid twenties, with a 5 yesr old blonde girl on her lap, in the visitor's chair by my bed. They looked over and snilled, the woman pointed to me, and whispered something to the girl, who then smiled and waved to me. Then they vanished. Night nurse also saw them, and last I checked the pain meds I was on don't cause a person to hallucinate. I see it as them saying, we're waiting, and will see you in time. Don't rush. Years for you are but a moment where we are. I've had a feeling of peace ever since.
