It's nice to see someone besides myself who gets a great wash-n-go that lasts for a week with UFD alone. Love the new look it's gorgeous!!😍 😍 It really does frame your face and it isn't too drastic. Sometimes a little change is good. In 2014 I cut my almost TBL hair back to SL, and yes I initially hated it and wondered what in the world possessed me to do such a thing. So I understand the week of sadness. The great thing is it grows back so try to enjoy the journey.

Amen! Thank you so much and I totally receive the encouragement. Yes I am determined to focus on the beauty of this haircut. The base length is perfect, but the choppiness is what I’m not accustomed to. For that reason I still have my moments. But I know that God is good all the time and all the time God is good. So I count it a blessing. UFD is a wonderful gel. With my longer hair I never tried styling it using UFD alone, because if it did not work out I did not have time to redo all that hair, lol 😂. At this length and in this particular shape I believe the fluffier the curls the better. Less products and less time, BLESSINGS!!!!!! 🥰💕🥰💕🥰💕

Abena! Your hair is GORGEOUS!!! So much bounce and style and of course it's just always beautiful! I cut my hair armpit 3c/4a hair into a tapered bob back in March and it was the best thing I could have done but at the time it was pretty traumatic lol. Probably because I was just growing it out to see how long I could go not once realizing it had lost all shape and had become a chore to do. But once the cut "settled" and I saw how actually flattering it was, my whole outlook changed! Now it's grown out a bit but I LOVE the tapered bob shape . My hair now is pretty easy to care for and looks like it has a style yet not too short. LOVE the new look on you ❤️

Even though I'm not a professional stylist I have done cuts on my hair and other people's hair and from what I can tell the stylist did, she took liberty in interpreting that cut the way she wanted to do it because she cut a lot off the top (not like your original cut) and she could have made your layers longer but I think the problem is when you get other people cutting your hair sometimes they just do what they want to do anyway. If she had done the exact cut I think your hair would have looked much thicker like it did in the original picture from 5 years ago. I've asked for a minor trim before and walked out of the salon with a shag! It's like you're giving them good money to do what you have in mind but they're going to do what they want to do anyway. She saw your vision but she still did what she wanted to do. I would not go back to her for another cut because she doesn't take instructions well.

I love how your comments have caused me to reflect upon this situation with new eyes! My experience with her over the past year, which was 4 times ( 3 trims and 1 major cut) has been such that she would check with me at every point when she wanted to make sure it was the right length to cut off. This major cut was the very first time we did not see eye to eye overall. It makes me wonder if I had elected to just describe how I wanted the hair to fall, piece by piece, perhaps I would have gotten closer to the full shape I wanted. Perhaps, because I provided a visual representation lead to misinterpretation. Because with the previous experiences, she did take my instructions very well. It is a lesson learned. And I appreciate this new revelation. Thank you so much! 🥰💕🥰💕🥰💕 BTW, since we are engaging in human interaction when getting our hair done, having an understanding of how well our communication is received makes a huge difference. Some people work well with visuals, and some work well with verbal instruction and hand gestures (respectfully of course) 🥰

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Though it was not a pleasant experience for me to be disappointed I am thankful I went through this for several reasons. 1. I trust and believe things happen for a reason. And that some good can always come out of it. 2. It is important to me to know the truth rather than assume. Because I kept an open mind and my heart was open I could receive revelation the cut was intentional to give me volume. A week later I was able to clarify with my stylist what her vision for my haircut was. it was exactly like the revelation I received. It is realistic for her to interpret the five day old Wash N’ Go on me in 2015 was a layered cut based on the image quality I provided her. 3. Because this is the industry I work in I feel more responsible to find ways we can improve upon the process to ensure we can better receive the outcomes we desire when it is plausible. 4. Working with another individual is an opportunity to create harmony. Harmonious relationships are valuable. I have a harmonious relationship with my stylist and I wish that for everyone of us. A harmonious relationship does not exempt us from misinterpretation or misunderstandings they happen in some of the most harmonious relationships. 5. I encourage everyone to examine the work/portfolio of the professional stylist they are considering to confirm they actually perform the work you are looking to have done on your hair, according to your standards of beauty. And it is reasonable to ask pertinent questions to make sure the two of you can develop a harmonious working relationship of trust and respect. These are some of the ideas I shared via live broadcasts on Instagram (replay of the recordings are still available on my Instagram page) over the course of the week that my hair was cut into this new shape.

Yes, it does look amazing. I recently had my hair cut, but it turned out so bad. It was blowed dried when she cut it because she said she needed to see where the single strand knots were.
