Final Notice w/Othniel Penn

Күн бұрын

The property owner used the Sheriff Department to serve the original Forcible Entry and Detainer Warrant. It was posted to the door after 3 attempts at service. I was hired to have the FED amended and reissued, and to try to get personal service. After serving the defendant, he either gets "Pissed Off" at getting served, or is telling to me to "Piss Off" -- I'm not sure of which. lol!

Same, we always seem to have just enough for bills and our needs. But cleaning products aren't that expensive and the USE of them are absolutely free. Even if you can't pay something, you dang sure can at least clean it. We don't have a mansion, and it may not always be organized but it stays clean. And when we move, we take everything that we brought and even fix the chipped paint, dings or missing door stoppers etc... There needs to be a "National Do Not Rent To" registry that landlords could use when checking out potential renters. Many of these renters move in and after the first month's rent is the last rent the landlord sees. After months and months of having to go through the legal system to have them evicted, they leave behind truckloads of crap that has to be hauled away. The house is destroyed because they lived like animals. Then those renters move on to the next 'victim'. What can you do, sue them? They don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

My father is like that. He has several storage buildings - in two towns in two different states - full of nothing but moldy rotten junk worth nothing - and we figured he was paying $3000/MO on average - he was always complaining about money and being poor - despite having substantial savings - I told him that $3000 goes a long ways if he simply got rid of his junk. His statement was - What if I need something?. I asked him if he needed it so bad - do you know which storage building it would be in - which box to open - and if is worth the time to search for hours and days for something like that? And his house - I rarely see him - he was renting a home after he burned down the house he owned because he didn't want to clean it - he was being evicted for the deterioted condition and ultra messy state - opening the front door made me puke - I have never seen so many roaches in my life - and debris packed to the ceiling in every room. I asked him what he wanted me to to - when I told him that everything in that house simply needed to be thrown away due to bugs, mold and mildew, simply piles of dirty mess - so what did he do? He rented a storage building and paid to store every last thing - just like before - I had no part of that. I told him that his retirement could be so much better if he simply stopped paying to store decades worth of junk and stopped wasting money of storing what is basically trash. He drives an SUV type of car - full of so much trash - that the rear of the vehicle rests on the bottom of the travel of the rear suspension. He complained about fuel mileage and excessive tire wear - and there is no talking to him about eliminating the trash in the vehicle to "fix" those issues. People like this have no coping mechanisms and their though processes are flawed beyond belief. So sad. I don't believe there is a way to fix that after they get that far along in my opinion.

I used to be so made when my mom used to wake us up early Saturday morning with each of us our own bowl of water with cleaning supplies and we each had to get a wall and clean that’s included the running boards and mop the whole nine there was no sitting down until every inch of the house was clean, and I can honestly say that I am so grateful and thankful for that didn’t understand it then but NOW I just don’t know how people can relax in all that filth 😢

I spot some nice antique furniture. The 4 poster bed is nice. The table at the top of the stairs, the antique love seat. Hell, even that covered Pyrex casserole dish is something I'd like.I''d love to do a walk through from some of these abandoned homes and make offers on some of that stuff. Too bad I live in California .:-)

...The way people live so gross in these houses is beyond me... I have been a property manager before, an investor, and a hired hand to get inappropriate renters out of properties and it is amazing how nasty some people live... Vagrants keep properties cleaner... All that junk... He probably didn't take it with him because he probably never bought any of it... It looks like junk they picked up wherever and however... Also, if he peed on the outside of the house in front of the police best believe he peed on the inside of the house... I would knock the house down, build another, and sell the property...

My husband is military so we move frequently, we got the same duty station twice and used the same rental management company. When we got his next orders, I stopped at the office to let them know we'd be moving a few weeks before the lease is up. When I went back to turn in the keys ...the property agent said " I hate to see you guys go, you pay on time and leave the residence move on ready for next tenant". We wouldn't think of not doing that. How these people have no dignity or sense of caring for other people's property is appalling.

Sandy, I agree. What makes tenants think a landlord is supposed to support them. Landlords have mortgages, taxes, insurance etc.
@Heia.Safari
@Heia.Safari 7 ай бұрын
@stormyweather7952 And the tenants pay for all these things and the landlord also makes a profit in the end. The landlord is theoretically an unnecessary and middleman.
@stormyweather7952
@stormyweather7952 7 ай бұрын
@YakovSovietsky That's strange thinking. Landlords save for a down payment to purchase a property . Like any business it's important to make a profit. That's how they are able to pay yrent and living expenses. Unfortunately, mom and pop landlords profit is very small if any. So a landlord is necessary to help provide housing just like a grocery store is necessary to provide food, a truck driver is necessary to transport goods, etc. I've kept my units affordable and still got a bad tenant and when he moved I had to go into heavy debt to make the repairs.
@Heia.Safari
@Heia.Safari 7 ай бұрын
@@stormyweather7952 Ultimately, the bank owns the house (until everything is paid off). Mortgages, taxes, etc. are paid by the tenant...because without a tenant, the landlord would have to pay for everything himself. Of course, this doesn't apply to all landlords...not everyone is the same. Landlords wouldn't be there anymore if america had a different "housing system"...for example public housing for everyone. There are many examples in other countries that this can work. Sorry if I made any mistakes in pronunciation...English is not my native language! But i hope you can figure it out what i mean :)
@stormyweather7952
@stormyweather7952 7 ай бұрын
@YakovSovietsky without a landlord or housing providers tenants wouldn't have a place to stay. If a property cost $700,000 and the buyers puts down $140,000 of money they have worked for and saved the will havea mortgage payment of about $5000 a month, insurance of about $1000 a month taxes of about $1500 a month, maintenance of about $600 a month, that's $8100 a month if If there are 3 units rented at $2000 each, that's $6000. So in addition to the $140,000 down payment they have to go into their pocket every month for an additional $2000.
