Translation problem : Yuyangli is the village in the countryside where Xiaoman's land was, and she wished to go back to eventually. It is NOT some Yuyang Alley making it all confusing ! Besides, Hanchen is far above Duke rank, he is still a Commandery Prince at that moment, sent away for his health but not demoted and therefore still valuable as a pawn in the imperial clan game. I have doubts about taking Xiaoman as concubine really can better protect her from the imperial spies and assassins; perhaps keeping her close this way, as a matrimonial maid and slave could indeed help since this way, she will ''serve her sentence" with no need to kill her and no real threat to a future wife in title of same class as Hanchen, according to the Empress' wishes. The household does not seem that safe since there is already one known spy for the Imperial Consort (Hongshu). Probably the best would be for Xiaoman to take a stand and refuse to marry altogether untill all misunderstandings and setups are cleared. But Hanchen is not ready to let her go...

This series has been great so far! 👏🤩 It is interesting to see a young Duke that is going to a lot of tantrums and internal struggles to make his place in society. Liang Jie is beautiful, but her character is too much! 🙄 I understand her frustration, but at the end of the day she is the daughter of an official not a princess. Her acting is ALWAYS the same, she always give that air of superiority and it is annoying. Maybe she needs to take on some different roles and stop always being the one that is perfect while everyone else is wrong. It never missed in all of her dramas......😌 I actually think she would make a great villain.
