Nothing more peaceful than the first bit of film on this video, it reminds me of the very early mornings as one arrived at the water of choice, no wind, and the sun about to come up, beauty personified

10 years of float fishing here :) just float nothing else. My favorite rod was 5 meters Daiwa medium action with a cheap knock off but reliable Shark reel .I get goosbumps even know remembering that feeling of sitting on the lake at 5AM,summer warm mornings,smell of tobaco in the fresh air of the forest nearby ,sipping some warm coffee and sudenly a patch of 2 meters diameter of dead leaves and bubbles coming from the bottom and 1 minute later your float raises,drops flat for half a minute than rushes on a diagonal.And game is on!. best times of my life :)

No. I was fishing for Musky , Pike and Small Mouth Bass on a Fork of the Chippewa River just hours ago. Knee deep water and plenty of bugs to harass the angler but a fine day.

***** we have tench here in California but no one fishes for them. Italian immigrants brought them over back in the days. But here what you call rough fish isn't fished for. Carp is somewhat gaining some popularity but not much. Pretty untapped fishery.

It is a tench (Tinca tinca), not a carp (Cyprinius carpio). They are in the same family but tench do not grow as large, and a 10 pounder is still a huge fish.

@portcullis56225 жыл бұрын
They spawn in spring, so why not fish for them in summer? The old start of the coarse season (16th of June) was far from perfect, as I have seen tench spawn in mid-July (2017), but at least it gave the fish (and other wildlife) three months rest. In the future, it is going to be increasingly difficult to defend angling for sport (as opposed to food), so deliberately catching fish when they are spawning, and all those ridiculously overstocked bagging pools will be indefensible.

i think the fish was attacked by a lamprey!

What makes you think that? In Britain, lampreys tend to be found in rivers (where they migrate to spawn) rather than lakes.

In all the vids I've seen they always release the fish again. Are really that many people doing it just for the heck of it? Personally I'd find it more rewarding if I'd take it home and eat it afterwards.

it is probaly a commercial pond/lake with a catch and realise policy so they don't lose all there fish
@HARDYSFISHINGADVENTURES9 жыл бұрын
then in 99% of cases youd be breaking the law as nearly all waters be it lake or river are owned by some one some club or another party we have enough problems with immigrants and cormorants emptying the rivers and lakes and now the otters too
@MrJimbotz9 жыл бұрын
Wakey wakey, i am an English angler but i am not that naive to beleive poaching of fish has only come about since east europeans have been moving to England in large numbers, people have been Poaching privatly owned waters for hundreds of years, one season its the Otters, the next its Cormerants, then the foreigners, make up your minds dont just believe what the media are saying on whats fashionable on a given day. Eel is protected yet many Englishmen still go and catch them for the table, or is that ok then.

"Each day you can only take from rivers: 1 pike (up to 65cm) 2 grayling (30cm to 38cm) 15 small fish (up to 20cm) including barbel, chub, common bream, common carp, crucian carp, dace, perch, rudd, silver bream, smelt and tench Any eels you catch (except conger eels) must be released alive." source: www(remove bracket).gov.uk/freshwater-rod-fishing-rules/fish-size-and-catch-limits Don't get me wrong- I personally don't agree with this limit on the small fish (15 is too much, even if you dead bait you only need maybe 5-8 fish per session, especially if you also buy some sardines/mackerel etc)
