Now is literally the best time to make a new Tenchu games with feudal Japan games being so popular now, with Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima and Niho and now AC Shadows is on the hype wagon too

i love the tenchu games, never did finish the PS1 games but i love Wrath of Heaven and Fatal Shadows

Ah good ol Tenchu, if you never played it I recommend also Shinobido on PS2, it is pretty much Tenchu but with more strategy involved and having to choose a side with the various warlords, even sabotaging them by accepting a mission to carry new weapon prototypes, only to fail it on purpose by leaving the map and giving it to a different one or keeping it for yourself, as you would then have to face against said weapon if you then decide to switch sides, highly replayable, also crafting bombs in it is extremely fun ;)

@@salokin3087 Alongside Shadow of Rome, it's one of the PS2 games I love that sadly never broke into mainstream appeal. If you like Tenchu you'll love just how much you can do in that game.

its worth adding that shinobido had a pseudo port on the PSP that doubled down on the level creator and a sequel on the vita.

Hoping both PS1 Tenchu games get rereleased for PS4/PS5 with trophy support. They weren't even sold digitally on PS3, PSP, or PS Vita. Same for the PS2 sequels. They can skip Tenchu Z.

I'd like to play Tenchu Z, looks pretty cool. But its 360 only and Xenia is still rough as an emulator

1:35 Early English video game dubs, man. Sure, nowadays it's very much hit-or-miss, but in the 1990s, Metal Gear Solid 1 was the exception to the rule, as most of it was pretty goofy or worse. And no, the Resident Evil series doesn't count as those games were English audio only back then.

Nice to see a new video. I played both games a lot but never beat them, can't remember if was part 1 or 2 but I got stuck on some mountain level, the kind of stuff where you drop off and you have to start all the way from the bottom again, and I remember that bear fight! so annoying, but yeah it was a rough game in parts but still entertaining enough. I would 100 percent play it on emulator now for the very reasons you said, or a modern re-release that has save slates.

i got into the serie from way of the samurai . def a must play if you enjoyed the original trilogy. i think the combat and aesthetics and atmosphere aged very well. i can praise this enough.

I would champion this game , over MGS when it came to stealth. The ability to hit the roof and plan your attack , the of one hit "stealth kill", camouflaging as the enemy , Poisoning. It all started here.

In my opinion nice art style doesn't really age, sure we can see some PS1 faces and pop ins, but these two games still look beautiful and stylish. Tenchu 2 was a huge suprise, because it improved so much after 1 from the story telling, voice acting to the graphics and game mechanics.

I spent so much time playing 1, wrath of heaven and fatal shadows. New Tenchu would be great, but hell I'd buy whatever console needed just for remastered versions and I haven't bought a console since the 360 and that was for Tenchu Z which was disappointing

Wrath of Heaven was pretty good. Shadow Assassins was meh.

I still have no idea of how you beat the final boss of Tenchu 1, precisely because you have to replay a grueling level before you can even try again. I eventually just spammed landmines on his ass and killed him that way.

Yeah, its a pretty crappy fight. I just used the items boosting defense, packed medkits and spammed bombs and landmines. The rest of the level is pretty easy honestly. The game says that "lava is an instant death" but you can basically just run right over it
