This one is the best soundtrack orchestra in Tenchu series ever. Perhaps the best of them all!! It feels so authentic and resembles that of old ways of living in ancient/imperial Japan, at least to me. You would probably feel the same way too
@hyperdeath843 жыл бұрын
This whole soundtrack is really next level. Compare just the audio quality to other PS1 games - these are live instruments being played by human hands and you can feel it in the music. In an era defined by midi music this OST really stands out.
@Naitoraven951 Жыл бұрын
Tenchu's ost are slightly compressed (.XA format used - 37800hz ADPCM). Use midi type It's not bad at all, It depends on the skills of composer and sound programmer :)
@hyperdeath84 Жыл бұрын
@@Naitoraven951 Even with that compression, the live guitars, flutes etc. used in Tenchu’s OST sound way better than other games of the era like FF7 or Ocarina - both of which have amazing soundtracks. Tenchu’s OST stands out and the use of live instruments is a part of that.

I'm almost crying at the fact that games nowadays are just so one dimensional and boring. There were things I loved about Tenchu that you would seriously never see in a modern game. They're all just... Interactive cinematics now, that don't really challenge you, or kick you in the balls for losing. You're always made to understand everything. In games like these, there was mystery, suspense, a sense of surrealism, music and ATMOSPHERE that is, simply put, unmatched to this day.

@jaydavidson45924 жыл бұрын
Agree 💯. To add to that, what may have made games extra special was; No online play---just you, your imagination, and the game. No achievements or social distractions. Being younger. Owning a physical copy of the disc. Gaming community/developers were alot smaller than today...more pride in their creations. This was before Halo 2 basically phased out the aforementioned dynamics and effectively ruined single-play magic. Yes I said it. All was not lost though. I had an amazing experience playing Oblivion on 360,....last "pure" gaming experience I had
@glenngriffon80323 жыл бұрын
@@jaydavidson4592 don't forget that instruction books back then used to give a bit of story not present in the game as well as artwork.
