@@shawnsargent5271 This feeling, this quiet, personal, intimate feeling is why i will not play multiplayer games sure you play on a MP server long enough you get to know the map inside and out but on a single player game you can really take your time and savour the areas. Get to know them, look at each tiny detail and appreciate everything. You can kill all the enemies and leave the level totally bare and empty and then wander around pretending it's real, that you're really there, walking through the snow, looking in the rooms, that you're sleeping on that pile of pillows, or laying on that rooftop watching the sky. (though i personally always liked using the debug code and just deleting the enemies to leave it clear and empty) I dunno, games these days just don't seem to have that. Or maybe I've grown too old to play make believe in game worlds.....nah.

leave it the hell alone! The games industry is falling apart as the companies scrabble desperately to find ways to hold on to whatever audience they can get and their games are little more than "product". If Tenchu were remade it would be awful. We'd have the two ninjas leaping around like they're in naruto or something. What made Tenchu so special is that the ninja were shown to be like regular people who were just well trained at stealth and infiltration, like real ninja. There was magical stuff sure but it didn't come right away. It was a slow burn that steadily increased to a final confrontation with the lord of hell itself. If made today it would lack all the heart and soul of this game. And they're fuck up the gorgeous music.

If FromSoftware does resurrect Tenchu, which funny enough "Sekiro" was early in its development, would they follow up where Shadow Assassins left off or do some sort of (soft?) reboot or outright remake the first two games from the ground up? The first game really needs it and it's tone and atmosphere is damn-near perfection. And the prequel second Tenchu game's story is surprisingly well-told, voiced acted, and choreographed for a PS1 game not unlike MGS1. Before Sekiro released and was named, MANY thought it was a new installment and I'm sure that didn't go unnoticed by the company. They brought back *Armored Core* recently despite it being dormant for so long, so why not Tenchu which is arguably just as popular despite it being just as dormant. And clearly the ninja series are at least still on their minds given the Sekiro stuff mentioned above and the references & inspiration that game took from it, so I pretty confident well see a Rikimaru and Ayame return before long. 🥳🥳
