Elvis has been gone for over 40 years. I still remember that afternoon when I came home from school and saw the news of his death on tv. 40 plus years and still million of people visit his grave site every year. More people visit Elvis' grave than all the Hollywood celebrities, famous people and politicians put together. Singers like Micheal Jackson (not the knock MJ) and the rest of them had nothing on Elvis. Elvis was genuine and real. He never forgot where he came from. He didn't let fame and fortune go to his head (like most celebrities) A down to earth man that the ordinary person can relate to. He treated people the way he would want to be treated. That's why he is so loved by so many. The reason almost no Singers today record his songs is because they can't do it better than Elvis. When you record someone else's song, you will inevitably be compared to the original. That's when you know how good he was. Listen to some of his songs like (can't help falling in love) that song was done by many artists including Andrea Bocelli. Bocelli is considered one of the best artist today. Go look it up on youtube and listen for yourself. There is no comparison. American idol has been on for well over a decade, they still don't have a contestants that comes even close to Elvis. Imagine if you had someone with his looks, singing talent, and charisma? That's what an idol is about. Elvis is the original and the biggest "IDOL" of all time. That's not just someone who has been an Elvis fan since the age of 10. He is simply the best. That's why people always go back to his music. Elvis was a true talent, not like so many that calls themselves singers today. I remember hearing Mariah Carey beating Elvis for the most records ever sold. REALLY? WHAT'S HER LEGACY? Most famous people and celebrities are forgotten (but for a mention in history) a few years after their passing. ELVIS is the only one that lives on for decades after his death. Let's be honest, the music he was provided with in some of those movies were less than desirable material. Certainly not the kind of rock and roll that made him in the early years. But he did the best he could with them. Absolutely no one else other than Elvis could have pulled it off and done them as well as he did. He could sing anything. That was Elvis. They say (Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery). Elvis has been and will always will be imitated all over the world. There are professional Elvis impersonators, commonly known as Elvis tribute artists (ETAs) from literally every country on this planet. There has never be that phenomenon ever. It's only happened once, and it will probably never happen again. If you go to some 3rd world country where the locals don't even speak English (as I have), the people there probably never heard of famous politicians or celebrities but as soon as you say one name "Elvis" they know who you are talking about. To be known worldwide by your first name along is really saying something. He will live on through his timeless music long after the rest of us are gone. I'm not a religious person but the one person I would like to meet in heaven (if there is one) would be Elvis. I would like to shake his hand, tell him how much he has affected me and been a part of my life. Elvis' music and legacy will always be loved in the hearts of people around the world. Even though some of these people speaks no English. That is totally AMAZING, unheard of. He will always be the one and only. There will never be another Elvis.

I agree with below comment, he had the best voice ever and I love a lot of voices in music as a big music fan but Elvis had a voice that melts you well he does me ;-). And for all he had some good movies King Creole,Loving You,Flaming star and others as I think his movies are personal choice but I still saw everyone because he is in them ;-) There were actually some really good songs in the movies, this is one of my favourite from Kissing Cousin's but also there were cheesy songs but a lot were really good and that's probably down to Elvis that he always knew how to sing a good song and he gave it his all , I love him

19 years ago, in the summer of 2002 (my Brian Adams "Summer of '69") I actually sang this very song to the Parisian love of my life, Lola (not Lola Chocolat, she hates that ;-) sitting on the stairs in a tiny park in Málaga and I meant every word of it, still do and always will, so basically the same as the video, except out of key with no music of course. I am many things, but Elvis is not one of them. Still feels like it was last week. That was my little Titanic moment, minus the drowning, obviously. Only Titani-anything I have is the handful of titanium plates in my skull after my 12 days in a coma after my traffic accident 12 years ago. Should I live to be a hundred years old, so another 6 decades, this song will forever be amalgamated with the one that should have been the mother of my children and the grandmother of my grandchildren if distance and circumstances hadn't ruined it before it really began. Sadly, such is life sometimes. Dammit. Why isn't there some deity that can give me a do over? I kept (i.e. stole) the bed sheet that we slept on and kept it tucked safely away. All I have left is that and the vivid memories, like her sitting on top of me on the beach with the full moon above her head, her two tiny braids touching my face as she kissed me, a tiny slice of heaven that was never to be. Should I blame Elvis for turning me into a hopeless romantic? Perhaps. I also adore Shakespeare but that came later. I was literally raised on Elvis from before I could talk. I will just forever keep wondering what she is up to. I hope she is healthy and happy. Am I weird for getting misty eyed looking at her photo while listening to this song? Tennyson was wrong. It is not better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. That only applies if your spouse dies or similar. It is better not to know what you are missing so that you may be content with mediocrity than to long for what you cannot have. Nietzsche said, “Blessed are the forgetful, for they get the better even of their blunders". Trust me, a great long-term memory is more of a curse than a benefit. If you do find it, that spark that makes everything fall into place, that makes nothing else matter, that makes you want to be a better you, a better everything, then move heaven and earth to keep it. He who never dares never wins. You have nothing to lose anyway that is worth keeping.

I have just come off a Utube website and was disgusted at what I read about Elvis being in the occult, a Satanist etc.etc. By a so called church. Anyone who sings songs like Elvis Presley deserves recognition. He sings from the heart, and I fell in love with him when I was 13 years old and I am now 71. Elvis has been a great part of my life, and I feel disgusted that whenever any star or singer dies, all the so called "dirt and false lies are brought up" because these "stars" cannot defend themselves. I honestly believe Elvis was a sincere, shy, charismatic and yes very sexy guy. Thank you Elvis for all the happiness you have brought to millions all over the world. I refuse to believe in all this ridiculous gossiping and malicious lies about a singer who could sing like he did. True fans, I believe no matter what they hear? If they are true fans they will ignore such rubbish especially written by a so called church! The guy never stopped rambling on, as for his so called half brother? I think he is sick! No matter what Elvis was, even if it was true what I read, this man brought happiness to millions and you brought me through many sad times in my life Elvis, and I thank you for that!
