Both great motors, I have used both but I have been using a Tohatsu 9.8 for the past 2 yrs and I just couldn't be without it, best motor ive ever had.

@@augusttornquist1733 Great , I want to buy new one but I really love honda my outboard still works without any problem after 5 years when I first bought it but at the same time I heard the new 6hp honda had some problems with acceleration... So I'm probably going to buy a Suzuki or tohatsu.

I know the tohatsu 4/5/6 is just the carburettor

On the Honda ots a restrictor plate behind the carb. So 6Hp version runs 500rpm more. Low to mid power is identical on all 4,5 & 6hp... 4 Hp max rpm 5000, 5hp is 5500 and 6 is 6000rpm.... so if you drive ar max power you will destroy the 6 first.... Also if you do not run the engine in correctly when new you will not get full power or max life....

Suzuki 4a 5a 6a have same engine and cylinder size. So it must be the carburator making the difference

@@brankojerbic6040 This is not correct. On the Honda's the carb, ignition coil and props are different on all three 3 models. There is no restrictor plate. The 4hp also has a different cam. The 5hp and 6hp are internally identical.

Suzuki DF6A. I got a bad engine(LEMON). Suzuki dealer and Suzuki in Brea California have not stood behind the engine. Very poor support after the sale. BUYERS BEWARE!!

I bought the engine online. All local dealers around Seattle refused to repair it under warranty. They sneer at me. They hate me. Contacting Suzuki did not help either. Later on, I serve the engine and solve all problems by myself. The engine is cheaper than Honda and the quality is okay. But Suzuki doesn't have post-sale services.

Panagiotis Ts Ciao, sinceramente preferisco l'Honda per la sua silenziosità! Per quanto riguarda le prestazioni sono molto simili, c'è da dire che l'honda è montato su un tender a chiglia rigida molto pesante quindi faticava a prendere velocità. Arriverà un video completo anche sulle prestazioni del Suzuki e se saremo fortunati proveremo anche lo Yamaha😁

Noah,Instagram how much is long your tender? You can try to change the TRIM of the engine, if you trim down the engine will plane in less time but the max speed will decrease. If the tender is big I suggest to you to move to the bow (fore part of the boat) while the tender is going to plane. this will help a lot. Our tender is 3,1 meters, if i am alone the tender will reach 28/30 km/h, if we are 2 onboard 24/26 km/h and if we are 4 onboard we cannot plane. If you connect the honda bf6 to an extrernal tank we know that some honda bf6 had some problems...they don't accelerate and the rpm stay low. please let me know if you found this useful !
