Whether you climb the charts and end up a queen of country, make millions selling out stadiums & arenas or you walked away today with your KZbin channel and some concert dates behind you, ...you are making beautiful music, touching souls and stirring hearts. You are leaving the world a better place by making your music a part of it. I'm just a middle aged metalhead, born and raised city guy and man if your songs don't reach into my life, leave me choked up with wet cheeks and red eyes. I love your style. Thank you.

Although not in High School, nor were they star players on a team sport, my two younger brothers both died tragically in two separate car crashes, 23 months apart to the day. Both were 33 years old. When you sang this song last night, it was my first time hearing it. My mother and I sat side by side at the concert and tears began pouring. Such a cathartic moment to hear that line, "Why can't you stop a car from crashing?" Oh, how many times we've asked that exact question. For all the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and all who have lost ones too soon to tragedies...Such a great way to express grief and know we are not alone in our confusion, hurt, and anger over the lack of understanding.

There's a jersey on the wall In a high-school gym in my hometown In the corner, by the scoreboard Where the bleacher seats fold down Twenty-seven took the Tigers To the finals that year But that's not why it's hanging there If I ever get to Heaven You know I got a long list of questions Like how do You make a snowflake? Are You angry when the Earth quakes? How does the sky change in a minute? How do You keep this big rock spinnin'? Why can't You stop a car from crashin'? Forgive me, I'm just askin' I bet somewhere, there's a yearbook In a box under a bed With a senior picture missin' In Loving Memory instead And somewhere there's a mother Who stopped goin' to church 'Cause Your plan quit makin' sense down here on Earth If I ever get to Heaven You know I got a long list of questions Like how do You make a snowflake? Are You angry when the Earth quakes? How does the sky change in a minute? How do You keep this big rock spinnin'? Why couldn't You stop that car from crashin'? Forgive me, I'm just askin' Oh, I'm just sayin' You don't have to answer now Oh, but some day If I ever get to Heaven Got a long list of questions Like how do You make a snowflake? Are You angry when the Earth quakes? How does the sky change in a minute? How do You keep this big rock spinnin'? If You got Your hands on everythin' that happens Then why couldn't You stop that car from crashin'? Forgive me, I'm just askin' Oh, I'm just askin'

Such a good song. Trust has been a hard thing for me so this really resonates with me but after diving deeper into faith, I have realized how we can offer up our suffering so that God can provide more graces. That car may have crashed, but God has His reasons. He sees the whole book, we see one chapter at a time. Death is a neutral thing, but it can be very good if we strive for Heaven and also learn to offer up our sufferings in trust. Also... think of Mary. She had to watch her son be killed, yet she still trusted in God. Be like Mary

There’s an unusual rhythmic version of dissonance in this song. The line “Forgive me I’m just asking” doesn’t have enough beats to fit normally into the rhythm of the song. First time through I thought “there’s something odd there.” Listening again it appears very deliberate, a way of both emphasizing the line and making a break in the flow so she can either repeat or go in a different direction. There’s a line in a movie where dissonance is defined as “getting the rhyme wrong.” Here it’s getting the rhythm wrong on purpose. It’s a bit jarring but that’s the point, isn’t it?
@joeydf285 жыл бұрын
the lyric you are pointing out is a pre chorus meant to stick out, imo. the same beat repeats in the sentences before the chorus in all verses and then it's used as a tag on the way out. Similar to most songs using a pre chorus.

This song bothers me so much. All of the questions asked in this song can be answered by science. Snowflakes are crystals, planetary orbit, tectonic plates causing earthquakes, opposing forces of friction and speed causing car crashes. Susanna Wankel exactly... exactly everyone is entitled to there opinion... just like you say you don’t understand the hype... some of us appreciate her musical interpretation... you know art. With that said when you make an opinionated comment don’t get but hurt when you get an opinion back. You know the best way to give an opinion without criticism??? Don’t give one... but if you really feel the need to voice your opinion than accept the other opinions that come with it. In hindsight maybe the movie Bambi was right “ if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all”. ...with all that said don’t take offense I’m just merely saying if you don’t want criticism on your opinion.... just shut the fuck up lol see what I did?? I just opened myself up for all kinds of criticism from people but the difference is I don’t give a shit... The end.

@@emanuelpino1 Susanna has a right to her opinion good or bad.. if the artist or the fans don't like a different opinion, they need to quit sugar coating stuff.. call a rose a rose.. and one shouldn't have to walk on egg shells and be careful they may hurt someones feelings.. the world is not always nicey nicey.. I think that susannas comment was decent.. she just expressed she didn't like her music.. so what.. others will like her music and others wont.. funny how one that says to watch the criticism of others, turns around and gets quite rude themselves.. interesting..look at what you just posted yourself Emanuel..
