I have not seen my daughter in nearly a year. I know she is running from the law, I have no idea where she is. Addiction is the worst kind of demon. It is a battle she cannot seem to win. This song.....it stopped me in my tracks. I know people thinks she just another junkie, but I remember girl scouts, the church youth choir, her best friend and her making singing videos and her first crush. This song touches me like no other song ever has. Thank you for recording it.

I am an addict...wasnt prepared for this kind of life when I let it in. It has dug me down, chocked and kicked me. It has taken more from me than I ever thought it would. I have tried to put it all down but it is stronger than me and it is smarter than me but it cant take being someones daughter from me. I have 2 little girls...ones 20 and ones 15. I posted rhis song to my facebook status and tagged both of them in it. I hope they realize I am not only their mother but I too just like them both am somebodys daughter.

This song really hit me when I first heard it... I was just driving home after a traumatic shift in the hospital, where we had a young woman with a drug use problem who had just lost a baby. I felt some members of the team were very judgemental of this patient for her drug use. When I heard this song, I couldn't stop thinking of this woman and what things must have been like for her to end up in the situation she was in.

OH CMON! This is what Soyboi's and woman day dream about. Crying to some song that hits them hard over an event they can relate to. Shes a drug addict who chooses drugs over her baby and you put to value on her. She made her choice and she killed a baby over her drug addiction yet you feel bad for her. I mean grow up.
@nooneanybodyknows13215 жыл бұрын
@@kawrss31 What a douche bag you are to just assume and comment she KILLED a baby. The comment doesn't say the reason the baby died, only that members of her team were judgemental for the patient's drug use and the baby's death. Maybe she was raped and she used drugs to cope. None of us know. Try some compassion and remember Karma is a bitch.

This song makes me cry every time. We recently had an influx in homelessness and it's sad. What's worse is to hear some of the mean and hateful things people say about these individuals. Just a quick note. I love this song. Period. I never had kids but this hits me like a freight train. Had had served from '99-'02 and there was a song that came on on one of the bus rides at Ft. Benning to one of the mounts and after being yelled at but instructors for three weeks it was nice that the driver had "Roll With The Changes by REO Speedwagon playing over the radio. It was that moment that a bus of hardened troops started to sing. Most of us broke down. 23 years latter, I'm now 51 and working Walmart overnights and we had a guy who came out of the military and said his song that every Joe broke down was this song. Nothing quite like hearing a bus full of soldiers crying over a song about someones daughter I agreed.

@krystal97295 жыл бұрын
This song hits me so hard. My mother was an addict for most of my 21 years of life. No one cares about them. They go missing, get raped, get murdered and no one cares. People think they’re just trash but they don’t understand. That’s someone who means the world to someone else. Someone they wish they could have caught. Could have been enough and been there before they ever started. She was using way before I was born. A few years ago she went away for several years and has been clean since but I KNOW that pain. Wondering where they are, if they’re going to come home, if they’re safe because when they don’t and aren’t no one cares. You don’t know someone’s story and why they chose that path. No one chooses to be an addict, they just want to escape and it ends up holding them captive and promises them false happiness. The only spoiler is it only takes ALL of your happiness away. Those little things that got you through the rough times? Gone. Those children you love? Eh. Your morals? What are those. Drug addicts aren’t bad people and I truly believe that because my mama isn’t. They just got lost along the way trying to escape the torments of life and when we didn’t catch them the drugs did and whispered all these false promises in their ears. YOU DON’T know someone’s story. YOU DON’T know how that person got there or just how important they are to someone. Everyone is missed. Every life is valuable and everyone deserves to be saved.

"I wonder how she fell and nobody caught her"... No matter how many times you catch someone, if THEY don't choose new choices they will always fall again. Addiction is a monster, but it is ultimately a choice.

Mainstream country shouldn't make a grown man cry. No it definitely should. Fewer beer in my truck songs and more stuff like this, please.

Heard this on WCOL Columbus and was very surprised. Seems like country stations only play strings of silly novelty songs anymore. This song actually caught my attention.

I too enjoyed this song but dont agree with what you said. Artists make songs for different people etc, I wouldnt be listening to this song driving down a dirt road on the way out to a bonfire, for that I'd listen to some beer drinking with pickups driving down backroads music

I normally despise country, cus all the songs seem to be about being an alcoholic, but this woman is one of the few country singers that dont make me want to kill myself. When you are forced to listen to country every day, it is nice to have some refreshing music come on the radio on ocassion

This is just heartbreaking as a parent to a toddler. Seeing her come from a good home woth a good parent. Then ending up on the street corner. So scares you for your own made me cry. Wish we could protect out kiddos forever

I have my daughter living with me for 2 years and this song is the purpose why I’m fighting for her custody, mom left her and her brother behind over drugs and it’s been difficult to not mention mom around them. I see in my daughters eyes how much she misses her mom and I can’t do anything about it. She’s my daughter and he’s my son and I will protect them.

There are way too many corners of 18th street and not enough coping, overcoming addiction & recovery, forgiveness, understanding, compromise, staying true to the vows, and willingness to fight for someone. I am sure I missed a human condition or a few, but that's where we are today. Powerful song...made me cry and I don't even have a daughter. But I know & know of those whose lives & families that have been destroyed by their addiction to alcohol/drugs/gambling/you name it. The insidious part is THEY have to change it up and all those who love them are powerless to change that. It's like living a train wreck you can't stop but know it's coming.

The last time a song hit me this hard it was "There Goes My Life".. I stumbled across this song a few weeks ago and have listened to it several times a day since. I love the message and I love the way it was delivered. I love this rising star's voice. I hope and expect to hear great things from her. Fantastic song! Very very well done and point most definitely taken. Just because someone has fallen on hard times doesn't make their life worth less than your own. We are ALL God's creations. If we could only learn to love each other as much as he loves us what a Beautiful world we would live in. God Bless you all.

If Tenille Townes and Ashley McBryde can't make it big in the mainstream of country music, then there's something seriously wrong with Nashville.

Yes, that's right Matt. Even though country music has always (like every genre) been dominated by males, it has never been worse than in the past 10 years. The industry is failing to cultivate the talent that can give us the next Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Crystal Gayle, Pam Tillis, Martina McBride, etc. Instead, we are given an onslaught of generic males, hardly distinguishable one from the other: Walker Hayes, Mitchell Tenpenny, Jordan Davis, Brett Young, Russell Dickerson, Morgan Evans, and on and on. Most people can't even remember who is who. And most of these dudes will be soon irrelevant and forgotten -- remember Canaan Smith?
@rockpaperscissors826 жыл бұрын
She is not on every country station. Not even close. This song has not even charted in the top 60 yet on Billboard Country Airplay, and a song is not even in regular rotation until it hits the top 30. So, how has she made it big? Your definition of big must be rather small. She is getting some attention, but she is very, very far from making it big, as she should for such a talent.
