The Tennessee Titans are kicking off rookie mini-camp this weekend and we got to hear from some of the most important people in the organization starting with Brian Callahan and like previous offseasons, the Treylon Burks' hype train has left the station. Next, both Callahans, Bill included, dished on the offensive line including discussing right tackle and JC Latham's switch to left. Finally, Will Levis talked about his first impressions of Brian and how we wants to be the next great QB in his lineage.

Nobody is HYPED, Tyler. We are just HOPEFUL that after all the OL + QB (no moreTannehill) woes have been addressed, he has a CHANCE to shine in year 3. This is his last season with the Titans if he doesn't, so let's get off his back and see how it goes with him.

@luckyrazrbk1 I mean can you blame him? What has Burks done that is worthy of praise instead of criticism?? Don't forget who we traded to get Burks (which is what makes this situation sting that much more), our GM literally traded the best WR to ever play for this franchise for someone who cant even stay on pace with our RB lol.

Yea and also the dude is a huge diva and crybaby. Criticism is ok but a loy of it was concussions and the scrappy offensive philosophy and a horrible oline . Bashing him constantly every show and giving up on him absurd. Dude has way more potential that yall know I guess. Go back and watch all his college tape. He will prove yall wrong, he just needs to stay healthy. This new system and coaches will fit him very well I believe. Just stop the hate and try to be positive and hopeful

I think some fans forget that Levi’s was taking second and third string snaps during training camp last season. That makes it very difficult to build chemistry with the starters. I’m very excited to see what he shows this year as the undisputed starting quarterback entering training camp, Callahan’s guidance/offense, and all of the off season upgrades around him. He’s already got major intangibles- heart, toughness, and a cannon for an arm.

Burks was misused by the previous coaching staff, and his speed couldn't be used down field because the offensive line couldn't hold up for longer than it takes to run 5 yards. He's the fastest (top speed) guy on the team and a better offense will show his talent. You can't get back on the hype train if you never left fam

I am hopeful he can finally shine, but regarding the speed, at the NFL combine, he ran a 4.5 flat. That is neither bad nor elite speed. He will have to beat his opponent with technique, savvy and size...not speed.

The hate on Burks is unfair, using his stats against him is inaccurate. Talk all about his injuries that’s fine, players go through that including zay jones, someone that most of these listeners were saying was better than burks. As a titans fan we know that burks had tannehill as his best qb and a rookie in Levis. In top of that the offense was ran through Henry, as an offense we had more rush attempts than pass attempts. He was best served as a slot but we put him as the guy right after aj and say he’s not good enough for us? That’s not fair to him, and to say he’s injury prone, most of his injuries were on plays where he was giving 110% for a catch. As a receiver you only have but so much control over your game when it comes to having a mid qb.

It’s still possible that Burks is our most physically gifted WR. I think his health will be his biggest downer. I could see a scenario where he stays healthy and becomes a solid WR. Between the injuries and Vrabel offence he had some bad luck. He come in shape he could have something. Luckily we aren’t sol if he doesn’t grow.

The thing about Burks is that people know he has everything a player needs to be a high caliber receiver, so with a better offensive coaching staff there is a chance they bring out the best in him. Expecting something different from a player with a better coaching staff isn’t crazy.

I think the Titans did/are doing exactly what they are supposed to do. They should build the offense with Treylon as WR4 or 5 and not expect him to be a starter, but giving him the opportunity to grow his role and try to earn a spot. Honestly if Burks sucks then DHop, Ridley, and Boyd is a great trio. If he becomes what he was billed as coming out of college having DHop, Calvin, Burks and a top tier WR4 in Boyd at 3 million on the cap is also a great spot.

I agree w/you 100%. I really believe that Treylon is better athletically and bigger physically the Boyd. So I'm hoping he can work his way into that slot position and then eventually take for DHop if he doesn't come back and be that DAWG for us!

I agree with not getting overhyped, BUT for a completely different reason. The real reason he hasn’t done anything is injuries and specifically the TYPE of injuries. Foot issues/turf toe. With that problem alone he’s never truly fully recovered and it’s held him back. And then secondarily the concussion. You can tell he played a lot more hesitant after that. We have only seen a handful of games from Burks at his true full health and mentally all there.

You know how some of us buy into the hype? Its because we actually pay ATTENTION to his injury situation. Treylon has struggled with concussions ever since that big hit in Philly. How can you blame him for that? Even last year he was still suffering through concussions on any big helmet hits. Those days are OVER now that he started using that Q-collar. I expect he now knows he can get through these games while not worrying about head injuries so much. That's a confidence boost. That's why he'll take that next step this year. The more you talk Tyler, the more I feel you NEVER played this game.

Here is the thing for which Tyler you have mentioned many times: The previous coaching regime did not develop talent properly and Vrabel only dealt well with players requiring minimal attention and training. Him and JRob has fallen out imo because JRob kept drafting players requiring more attention and training. Vrabel when he initially arrived had a playoff ready team and went forward with who he liked, at the expense of talented players who did not see eye to eye with him. It worked for a couple of years until JRob kept drafting suspect players not in line with Vrabel's philosophy. Personally, I think Burks got a very raw deal being drafted in the 1st round expected to replace right away AJ Brown as if he was his clone. AJ Brown was able to come on his own without major expectations from the get go even if questionable coaching and coordinators...Some players require more attention than other and I think Burks falls into that category, specially with the health issues he dealt with (asthma, multiple concussions). With this regime who actually care about player development, he has a chance to start fresh without the expectations tag of a 1st round pick. Maybe he might become a trade bait down the road which I'm very comfortable with or simply being cut this preseason or let go at he end the season. I think for the sake of this season, this coaching staff will coach him properly and find out if there is any future for him here, even as a 4th to 5th receiver. I get it not buying into the hype, for which I'm not in it either but give the dude a chance under a new regime that emphasize on player development and see what happens...

Early in D. Henry's career, he spoke with Eddie George. E. George said to him, if your hearing talks about them trading you, it's probably true. That lit a fire under D. Henry and the rest is history. Although, Henry wasn't getting injured, he still needed a push. Hopefully, this is Treylon's push. He was thrown into a mess, hopefully he can clean up under a new regime.

I think it's just wanting someone on our team to succeed. Rookie year Burks showed A LOT of flashes of being great. Injuries/two concussions haltered both of his years and last year he had abysmal QB play for the first half of the year (when he was healthy) when RT17 was QB1, and then got hurt the second(?) game Levis started. Plus he hardly got targets after he came back from injury and was used as a decoy. I wanna get "hype" on Treylon cause right now, he's one of two WRs on our team after this year. I think this year with extra veteran depth will help Burks as well. I don't think anyone is expecting 1,000 yards, 10+ TDs. But I'm going to root and be "hype" for anyone that plays for the Titans.

Bro this is such a emotional take my goodness 😅😬 my guy tyke Tolbert said yesterday when you hear one thing about somebody before you see them and then you actually see them thoughts can change. This is there first iteration of seeing the player in live action and after having lackluster offenses for the last 4 yrs and noe having a staff that has skill in the composition of an offense yes they should be excited if they have a player who has had some issues in the past but have untapped potential they believe they can pull out. Fresh starts don’t have to come from leaving a situation it possibly the headship and leadership will aid him in his growth. Give the kid a legitimate chance to show the skill that is undeniable even by his detractors

It’s very fair to buy into the hype, from year one to year 2, you could see the difference in treylon burks. He looked bigger and in better shape. His route running looked way more crisp than before. And he was actually using his body well making catches and what not. Unfortunately he was a part of this terrible offense. This year with a better qb and a better system and another year of improvement from him, I expect him to be better. There was hype around Josh reynolds then has 90 yards There was hype about kalif Raymond then he turns around and has less than 200 Both of those guys go somewhere where they have a competent staff in place and suddenly produce hundreds of yards MORE than what they were able to produce here. Same with aj brown. So yes I believe the hype that he has been doing the right things and continues to develop and get better. But do we have a staff that is able and willing to implement him into the offense now. And I’ll believe they will try, this year is different for him. If he doesn’t do well now, then yeah he can go

What I love about Levis is he knows he has room to grow, is a hard worker and smart. Also, interesting how we now have an epiphany that our OL coach speaks highly of Latham making the switch. So how is this news? Was it not obvious when they took him at #7? And wow, we will figure out our best starting 5 OL guys when the pads come on instead of picking that now. Shocking. We know NPF can play RT. It comes down to if someone can be better. And obviously Sweat will need to drop some weight to be the highest value. But the pick was DISASTEROUS! I think Rocker might know what he is talking about. It comes down to Sweat just being willing to do it and if he is it won't be a problem. Like all these guys he needs to become a professional.

Do you think passing more will help Levis and Burkes or just Levis? This was a bad show but 1 out of 50 ain’t bad, I give you that

Say Will Levis words about getting on Vrabel. I like that. It's pure truth. Love hearing that from a player. I hated Vrabel's old school style. He's coaching staff can't coach.

Give Burks a chance, he didn’t get to the nfl on a willie wonka golden ticket, he put in work. He had a shit poker hand dealt to him now he gets a new hand to play, let’s get it.

They are just trying to hype him up to make it sound like there is hope for him so they can maybe get a trade for him

Sir, they are also concerned about the depth chart. It’s always better to have to many good receivers than not enough. It’s not the talent that’s holding him back it his availability. YOU JUST WANT HIM TRADED…..for a 6th or 7th NEXT YEAR..lol. We can trade him next season for that.

It's called hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. It's year 3 and so far he's a bad string of injury luck. I'll take the word of his coaches and then go from there.

Tyler I would like to know where your confidence is with the new coaches . Basically your saying you dont have confidence in the new coaching staff to bring Burks outta his slump and bring him to his highest potential since you believe they can do it with other players ?... Thoughts ?

Sweat has plenty of time to drop 20 to 30 pounds. He's a young man in the NFL . Between him and the staff they will get him we're he needs to be

I’d be really surprised if Treylon burks is going to be wr 1-2 type of player this year but I 🤔 he can beat every teams 4 string cb…so if he gets the targets we’ll see what happens

I'm for sure not hyped. I hope the young man reaches his potential and helps us win. I hope he earns himself a second contract either here or elsewhere. But I don't expect that. Sometimes things just don't work out. He made a few million. He got married. He's going to be just fine regardless. But as a fan. Yes. I truly hope he breaks out. But I'm more excited about Nuk and Calvin and Boyd. And spears. If anyone breaks out this year I think it's spears or chig

How bout we save judgment till we see action. Last year, he was being developed by bad coaches, so let’s see what good coaches can do with him. Aside from the injuries, I still believe he was used wrong his first 2 years. Also, if they got Tyler to replace him, then why did they sign him to only a 1 year deal. Ridley and Burks are the only WRs under contract next year, besides Phillips and other small roll players.

I don’t think most people trust burks because like you said actions speak louder than words. It’s probably his last year on the depth chart… if he muffs it this year it’s over lol 😂 kind of feel bad for him

Isn't it possible Burks did look good in the last years off-season, and injuries prevented him from showing his true self. Yes Boyd is insurance but it's possible Burks takes off this season ans stays healthy! Not hype but hopeful!

Man find another topic. The man doing his work, controlling what he can control. You act like this man is an 8 year vet that this has happened to year after year. This is year 3. He’s the 4th or 5th receiver on a cheap rookie contract. Stop whining about this dude. Nobody’s buying into any hype. All I see is you just poo pooing him. Why are you waiting so much time on a 4th or 5th receiver this regime did not even draft. He and NWI are depth pieces. It’s highly unlikely the top three stay uninjured all year. Some of yall Internet personalities get way too stuck on your pet topics.
