The Cats used Jaxson Robinson with his height and quickness to stop Zakai Ziegler. Jaxson was the emergency point guard but coach did not make him do both. Amari Williams played point-center for most of the game. TEAM win.

@@lb9181 I did, and I'm not sure what you're talking about either. First off, Z is really not any kind of major offensive threat scoring. If you don't watch Tennessee regularly and listen to announcers, you may get the idea that he's Tennessee's best player, but he's definitely not. He had 13 and 6, which is right on his average.....and only one turnover, which is good for him. And he certainly would have had more assists if UT actually hit a decent % of their outside shots. What Z did that hurt us most is he went 1-11 on 3s. Which he does sometimes, unfortunately, and frankly his shot selection just isn't always so good. But let's be real. They were almost all open shots. Nobody "stopped" him.

Hey Max! Try watching the post game comments next time. Barnes and Pope both talked about how Kentucky jammed up the inside to purposely make Tennessee fire away from 3. Pope did not believe Tennessee could make three's and he made it the game plan. The last couple of minutes Tennessee was so far out of character they didn't even attempt 2's. Barnes tried to adjust but his team couldn't respond. I believe Kentucky is top 10 in 3 point defense ( may have changed, haven't checked lately) . Are you saying Kentucky forgot how to defend the 3?

What's your point? All he said was almost all the 3s were open, which is completely true. I get that Kentucky fans want to shape that game as some genius gameplan by Pope and Kentucky's D, but I think others realize that another team missing 34 mostly open three-pointers is not a very repeatable path to victory. Just not going to happen very often. Certainly not a bad strategy for Tuesday, and it was part of their gameplan, but let's be real...even Tennessee is going to hit a higher % almost any other night. If they just hit 30% Tuesday, they likely win. Anything higher than that, they definitely win. As far as Barnes adjusting on O, he doesn't really do that so well. Really good coach overall, but this is what's kept him from taking the extra step his entire career. UT was actually over 50% on 2s, so there was success to be had there. UT was just impatient and showed horrible shot selection. Really nice win, good game by Kentucky, but I think a lot of folks view that one with a focus more on Tennessee's failings than anything else.

Now we will see how smart of a game plan Pope put together when Florida and every other team does the same to Tennessee's anemic offense. But go ahead a play what if all you want. How about if Kentucky didn't have half their team out with injuries it's a double win. How about if Tennessee's 5'9 point guard doesn't throw up 11 three's only making 1 instead of trying to be a pg and penetrate. How about Lanier quits playing softer than Charmin and tries being the star the Vols fans think he is. I don't understand you pointing out what Kentucky did right and then following it up with oh yeah but if Tennessee had done this. 🤡 I directed my message at Max, apparently you can have an opinion but I'm not allowed to.

@ Yeah we haven't won out there since our 2014 final four squad (the one that went undefeated in conf play). They've won I think one or two in gainesville but not many in that same span.

I am a TN fan. Our team is pathetic on offense. All UF had to do is let us shoot 3s and they win easily. I don’t think they win by 30 again but I can easily see a 10-17 point loss.

Facts Tennessee has been struggling on offense really bad. I think they can win more games if they try running the offense through ZZ and Igor more instead of Chaz.. Igor has been shooting the ball a heck of a lot better than Chaz. But that only works if Igor is more aggressive..

@@Sleezygem the ncaa committee looks at quality of wins and losses. The more wins against good opponents, the better your resume. It doesn’t matter how you get the win. The more teams Tennessee beats, the better the win looks for Kentucky. The Duke win also looks excellent right now for that same reason
