@Bijan Mehrpour Dont know about yester years Champions. Just imagine Big 4 starting a Tennis Academy! Students will flock to those academies paying high fees. Yester year champions were getting retired early in their careers. That made them to miss Tennis more than todays players. That is a dent to them both financially and emotionally. After few years for both financial and emotional reasons they were coming back to Tennis as Commentators. But Todays players have more plans. They have their own businesses. Sharapova has Sugarpova. Rafa has his own Academy. Roger is busy in selling Laver Cup tickets. Do you think they can earn so much money as commentators! And more over The big three are not going to Miss Tennis after their retirement. They have already prolonged their careers. They just go home and enjoy and engage in other activities. Im telling you, no channel can afford them. Forget about that. I dont see Rafa, Roger and Djoker describing some shitty guy as the best in the world.

Correct man.. I would go a bit further there.. As a huge Rafa's fan, i would really love to see Nadal in prime vs Wawrinka in prime in Roland Garros finals.. Nadal is pretty much unbeatable on clay when in his prime, but i think the only player that can possibly beat prime Nadal on Chatrier is prime Wawrinka.. But only maybe.. In general, i think when Wawrinka is playing at his prime on other surfaces, except grass of course, its impossible to beat him, not even prime Nole..

@@jonbonesmahomes7472 I agree. I was hoping we would see it in the 2017 final but alas Stan played like garbage on that day and had nothing left in the tank. I like how Andy Roddick knows his place in tennis history as a 1 slam champion, not full of himself. He knows he's not in the league of the Big 3, Andy Murray, Or Wawrinka and seems comfortable with that. Roddick still had a great career, nothing to be ashamed of.

It's crazy to me that Andy Roddick thinks of himself as a one-slam guy. I was rooting against him in all of his other GS finals because of who was on the other side of the net and even I think of him as one of the best players of his time. He just had the bad luck of meeting the most talented player ever to swing a racquet in all of those finals. Roddick was lethal as hell even after he'd stepped off of his prime.

Still amazed at how Stan just plain bullied Novak off the baseline that day. Just an incredible display. Roddick short changes himself when he calls himself "a one-Slam guy" and puts himself below Stan. Yes those are the biggest tournament and Roddick only had one (having the misfortune to be runner-up four times, losing to Federer in each of those four during Federer's prime). But in any other metric Roddick's career is more impressive than Stan's - tournament titles (32 to 16), Masters titles (5 to 1), career wins, etc.

I agree Roddick has good insights and commentary, but I don’t believe Roddick ever evolved as a player. He was the male version of Sharapova. Same thing, year after year, no change, no variety. With Roddick’s serve, he should have served and volleyed every now and then, Roddick rarely attacked his opponents second serve. Roddick rarely tried to take the ball early to rob his opponent of time and his ground strokes never really improved. He was a carbon copy year after year. Sure he had some success and he always hustled and tried hard, but I believe he could have been better if he “evolved”.
