What could have been of Djokovic without ATP/ITF, Media and crowds against him all of his career, without the covid idiocy (discounting weeks at N ° 1 from him while freezing the rankings with him at the top spot in 2020, banning him of multiple majors and masters between 2020 and 2022) or without his gluten intolerance and asthma, both conditions which caused injuries, lack of breath, unhealthy fitness and, hence, retirements from some matches in his younger years... what kind of freaking BEAST would we all be talking about if he treated those conditions earlier in his career, or better, if he never had those hurdles...
@jwt-nu3ei6 ай бұрын
You could do the 'ifs' for all 3. Federer - "what if he was 5 years younger", Nadal - "what if his body had held up for another 5 years", Djokovic - "what if covid hadn't happened". You could even ask "what IF a player the calibre of a 24 y/o Djokovic / Federer / Nadal joined the tour in 2018" or "what if Murray didn't fuck up his off season when he finally became world number 1" (does Federer still have his resurgence in 2018?). etc. All hypotheticals. Let's also not forget that the Big 3 have done a lot of philanthropic work. They have contributed to the sport both on and off court. Hence, why they are loved so much. They are also very down to earth and just plain likeable.
