Is it possible to go from a 3.0 USTA Adult Tennis Player to a 5.0 ranked tennis player?
Many coaches will tell you NO...you are too old
Even most adults would agree with that assessment but I don't!
I think it has less to do with age and more to do with vision, mindset, and persistence!
You have to be with in constant pursuit of developing you game as a tennis player.
It you get too caught up in Wins and Losses you will not get there.
If you are obsessed with your ranking you will not get there either!
You have to always keep your eye on the prize and develop skills just like a junior does.
You can do this!

Umm, a couple of huge variables, talent and athleticism. A track coach could tell people how to go from running a six minute mile to a five minute mile and the same people could give the same training and effort but without some talent and athletic ability, it just won’t happen. Still enjoy all your videos. Happy subscriber.

I am 70, started 12 months ago; there seem to be no videos geared towards folks like me , a fit senior citizen newly in love with tennis. who will probably never live to be a 5.0 🤣😜 😅

On a serious note though. I'm afraid what this coach is saying is true and not true. True that there is nothing out there geared towards this market. Adults that want to train like high performance juniors. Put in the hours on court, gym and tournaments. Unfortunately, no adult is going to become 5.0 starting from scratch , not having played some junior tennis at a decent level(perhaps there is an outlier out there to prove me wrong)

5 to 8 year plan? I started at 4.0 and 10 years later I'm still 4.0, but much better.

What i have found is, it leads to frustration when the said adult realizes the momumental task ahead of them. I would set smaller more achievable goals. Love the videos btw 🙂

I started at 19yo other than a few weeks with no lessons at 13yo and played D1 tennis. I was really an average D2 level so about a 6.0, at least a 5.5.

@@almacnamara2000 I became a 6.0 starting as an adult. I was a 3.5 level player at 20yo while I was in the service. After getting out of the service I played #6 my first year at a JC, then #1 my second year. I walked on at a mid major D1 and made the team at #12. Although I was at a D1 my level was more like an average D2 player based on playing them in tournaments. At my best I was a 6.0 although generally I’d say I was more of a 5.5 than a 6.0.
