I can't believe France even decides to let Paire play for them in these events. He's the epitome of everything you do not want representing your country on a stage like that. Absolute embarrassment.
@RubyChiang
@RubyChiang 4 жыл бұрын
the ATP Cup rules details that the No.1 and No.2 players play their matches with the other country's No.1 and No.2 players respectively. So Paire had to go in and play. the tie with South Africa was because Gael had an injury and so Gilles Simon played the first match and then Paire went up against Kevin.
@Kijlode
@Kijlode 4 жыл бұрын
Maybe but Paire won 2 of 3 matchs and the match he lose was really close against a former n10 rankings so even if you find him not good it is in its place. On the tactical level, it is a player who knows how to destabilize his opponents, therefore a force ... Whether you want it or not

I was at the Paire vs Anderson match, near the guy who shouted during the rally. It was a man amongst a group of French fans who clearly don't know tennis etiquette. It seemed they'd had a few too many drinks, and were really loud during play, who yelled loudly during Paire's rally after his serve. It was some guy in dreadlocks and a suit, seemed like a total tosser.

Calls are overturned ONLY when there's clear evidence that the call was wrong. The problem here was that the umpire worded his decision very poorly. He said: "We don't have enough evidence to confirm the call, HOWEVER the call stands", which makes it sound like he's making an exception on the rule. If he had said "Video review didn't provide conclusive evidence to overturn the call, so the call stands" there wouldn't be any confusion.

His dather have probably done everything and more for Tsitsipas the last 15 years, and still he can show him this disrespect. Zverev yelling fuck you to his box. I love when players talk to each other like Daniil and Ruud did. Forget the argument. I always feel like player bitch to each other, but always through the umpire. I prefer this. Player going face to face. If you have a problem talk direclty to each other.

I imagine this sport being hard to play especially when nothing's going right and the crowd is against you. You have no one to turn to but yourself and for some players, that's hard. They can't handle it. It's definitely harder than a team sport. However, I do think that Nick is petty. 🤣 He likes getting involved with drama like that time Woz congratulated Bianca for her victory on Twitter. 🤣

Fognini's FootFault does look like a footfault, it looks like when he loads his toes, and then jumps off of the front foot, it seems to be on top of the edge of the line as he leaves the court.

@Random Person I agree. Should not have been called to begin with. Players frequently erupt when foot faults get called on them, and the calls tend to be pretty rare. I recall seeing Roddick, and Serena having meltdowns over calls against them before and the calls should probably not have been done to begin with.

@RubyChiang

idk about replaying the point cause that would be just giving him another chance to make a serve. you usually can't get foot fault wrong so that probably was a foot fault.

@@RubyChiang If it can't be proven then the call shouldn't stand because there's no evidence. The point of the challenging is to make the call accountable. If it cannot be established, the benefit of the doubt should be given in favour of the person who is experiencing the disadvantage by the call. If you can't normally get a foot fault wrong then the evidence should be conclusive.

@@vinaye20 yeah but did you see the zverev shot last week in acapulco where his opponent hit the ball with his racket over the net because the ball bounced on his side and then went back to zverev's side, he reached it and hit it and the point was allowed and given. Its not a problem if you hit the ball with the racket over the net, problem is if you TOUCH THE NET with any part of your body and with the racket, THEN you lose the point, otherwise point should be rewarded to you.

@@velekorunoski5997 that IS within the rules mate...the ONLY situation where you can hit the ball with your racket on the other side of the net is if it bounces BACK to that side...this is in the rule book...djokovic hit a VOLLEY from the other side of the net...so it is ABSOLUTELY against the rules....and a completely different situation because in zverevs case...the ball bouncing back to the other side...there is no other alternative to win the point...but if novak had contacted the ball about 20 cm behind where he did...he could still easily put it away....its called gaining an unfair advantage...thats why the rule is there in the 1st place...look it up

The thing about many of these tennis players is that they are usually from a wealthy family that can afford few hundred k of lessons and they are already spoiled gold spoons. You put them in stress situations and their true whiny selves emerge. Of course with an exception of some well disciplined individuals- hats off to their maturity and demeanor.

If Benoit could control his anger and it can be done he would be an incredible player he’d be up there with the best, as all his anger would be channelled into his tennis. I think he could be great especially at Wimbledon on grass. But he has to want too change and get help. But he blames the Umpire, he blames his opponent and the crowd and himself. He seeks perfection but won’t get it. Just accept and move on and become great. so many just love playing all the smaller tournaments and collecting the cheques and getting rich they don’t wanna get better and compete in grand slams.
