For all the recreational players, please practice your serve and rallys. Gear matters when you actually can play.

Honestly, I think a good portion of the super picky pros are crazy and could play just as well with a normal setup.

Even as it's big news that Sasha's wants more power via Gravity Tour's 22mm beam v. the Pro's 20mm, I love the string tension intel, particularly at 6:49. (Everyone's so racquet obsessed, folks forget how key the strings are.)
@Phoniq10 сағат бұрын
After seeing Karue beat a rec player with a crappy Walmart racquet it’s made me realise it’s more technique that makes a difference. That being said Minor adjustments in equipment at the Pro level will make a difference but not huge differences.

I went down with tension quite significantly (basically, as a fun test) and it turned out to be a game changer for my needs

I would go with Sinner's way to strike the ball, and that's what I did some 25 years ago. My arm now says "No", but it obviously has a slight edge over Zverev's style of play. Just a very slight one, barely noticeable.
@aquibobo17 сағат бұрын
That small drop in tension could make a big difference for players when rackets are strung so quickly on the tour level. That can account for some variability among stringers and machines.
@anderssjoblom77938 сағат бұрын
Interesting news. I have played the Gravity Pro for years. Bought the Tour last summer and had it exactly matched to my favorite Pro stick (weighted 2-10 and handle). As a club player I mostly play the Tour now. Key advantage is that is quicker through the air, that way I get more spin. The Tour feels a bit stiffer. Added weight reduces that feeling. Im older, weaker, ranked 1 million spots below Zverev, but those are my thoughts after extensive testing and matching 😬

@razrfish9 сағат бұрын
DT numbers are whack! To get a 40 DT you need to string around 58+ # so something is off! Also, would live to know the reason he is putting the most dynamic elastic string in the cross thus reducing the spin generation of the poly with the worst string to string friction coefficient factor with gut in the cross.

interesting, Fun stuff > What do I know - I assume top players ( college , compared to me ) can tell the difference. BUT wouldn't they adjust within say an hour or 2. between most models ?? especially Strings. and he's a big guy as well. Myself, I always considered variable ability - like basketball , sometimes the ball goes in, yer hot. some days not.

The crypto bots are strong with this video. I just want someone to beat Sinner or least push him to 5 sets. I wonder if it will cause other pros to switch their gear more often to try to get that slight edge on him. So far nothing has worked.
@nicouwehand201612 сағат бұрын
A question, can swing weight be adjusted while maintaining the same listed weight of the racquet (eg: 305g) ? You mentioned Sinner's swingweight is lower but a few months ago everyone was talking about how heavy and head-heavy is racquet is. Are these two things (swing weight and weight) positively associated ? thanks, love the vids

Well that’s gonna be the case for most of the other head racquet with a standard length. I don’t know if they increase the length on extended frames by elongating the grip.

Youngsters of my generation. Get used to using lighter, more powerful racquets. These old guys, even the current pros like Rublev, Alcaraz, etc. have no chance. The younger guys coming with the lighter, power racquets are coming. What difference does i5 make for an old guy to use an 18x20 control racquet, when I’m going to bring in the power and end the point in 1 or 2 hits?
@CB-mr1ci17 сағат бұрын
Alcaraz plays with an almost bare bone pure aero 98. You can’t include him in the « old guys » category.
