I started playing tennis at 26, and I tried a similar racket, and I made improvements with that racquet. I choose that because I was not sure if could be succesful at recreational level or having fun, despite the fact that I have money enough to buy pure strike. 2 months later, when I realized I had skills for tennis and my mental streng and fitness fit tennis, I give it away and bought a Wilson Envy 100l. That was 5 years ago. Since 2016 to this date, I use a Wilson Juice. I have 3. Feliciano López and Azarenka used to market that model. Those rackets from big stores (Walmart, target, etc) accomplished very well their purpose. If the buyer manage his expectations by being aware that the racket is made for exploring the sport more than being classified in a level of performance, the racket worth every single cent. Just a quick comment in case no one has brought it up. The audio in the video is coming from the camera, and never seems to come from the lavalier mics. Hope that helps!

It's a starter frame for new players. What do you expect for $17.99? If you want to try tennis and are on a budget then for about $21.00 you can get a racquet and a can of Penn balls at Target. Such a deal!!! The racquet only comes in a 4 3/8" grip size. I am not so much concerned about the quality of the frame as I am the quality of the strings and the string job. It's a frame that's not for hard hitters. It's designed to be easy to play with and gets some modicum of power from its extended length and oversize hitting area. Like I said before: SUCH A DEAL!!! What's next? Harry checks out the tennis department at CVS? Or, maybe Harry checks out the tennis sneakers at Payless?

I wouldn't waste my time at any store other than Costco. Based on your review of the Wilson Ultra at Costco for $50, I bought 2. One for me and one for my brother. They sold out at the Costco stores in NJ and NY near me, so I bought the 2nd one on line. I left a good review for it, and said that Tennis Spin did a good review of the racket. I also bought 20 cans of tennis balls at Costco for $39.

Great to see this, thank you 😄 I joined a group of friends and asked who'd be interested in getting out and playing some tennis, several people said they were so I've been looking to get some inexpensive racquets to have on hand for friends who don't have a racquet, so they can just get out and have some fun playing. Nothing serious or professional level. I bought this yesterday and ordered some dampeners, I think we'll be good to go

4:50 Like Harry would ever pick HEAD over Wilson. As much as these are regarded as cheapie starter racquets these days, they have a larger sweet spot and play with better feel and vibration dampening than the aluminium racquets of the 70s and 80s. Suggest a play test comparison between this and the Prince Classic (Pam Shriver) or Prince Magnesium Pro (Pat Cash) - if you can find one in someone’s basement!

Pressureless balls get softer after like 50 swings. They bounce almost as nice as new balls too after a while. They're still heavy though

I can so relate to this episode as I come from a not so well to do family, as a teen, I didn't have my own racquet while everyone in my school was using branded stuff like Edberg's Wilson, Lendl's Adidas, Wilander's Rossignols or Steffi's Dunlop, I used the school's equipment and they only had a couple Head 6105 and one Head Arthur Ashe, 2 years later, I beat every junior player in my school then state and then country using a Head Arthur Ashe to lift the national under 18 title, I was only 16, I did it playing with a racket that was outdated, probably had dead strings and was cracked at the 9 o'clock with some tape to hold it in place 😂, they were fun days. I knew absolutely nothing about tennis other than hit harder, run faster and keep more shots in than my opponent. I didn't have a coach, and at my first tournament the umpire had to tell me that I could sit down and rest after a set 😂😂😂. . Almost got a whopping when my dad found out cos I never told him anything about my tennis, I had to sneak away from work after school to play with adults at a public tennis court if they would oblige, I learned how to wield all kinds of different rackets as I had to borrow them from others to play, I suppose they were my coaches and some did turn up to watch me play.
