So impressed by this!! Solas has the most special place in my heart, but really glad that Ireland has gone in a completely different direction this year. It’s catchy, fun and modern, and I love how confident Enya is. Can’t wait to fully support Ireland next month (especially as the UK is no longer involved💔), this deserves to get a strong result!

I like this. I was wary of them sending another lovely Celtic ballad after the last two years and am glad they’ve gone a different route. It’s fun and upbeat, and should do pretty well. This reminds me a bit of the vibe of the UK entry two years ago, though I prefer this, but that’s a good sign given how well Freya did. You need to give Estonia’s entry a listen, too

Great entry. There aren't that many songs this year that I like (pretty obvious that I'm not the demographic for JESC), but this sounds really good. Very catchy and vibrant. Fingers crossed for a good staging, good luck Ireland!

I just listened to all the songs revealed so far, and THIS is the standout imo. I really hope this gets Ireland another Top 5 if not a win.

Btw what you said about Irish language reminds me of the situation of swedish in Finland. It’s also our second official language, increasingly unpopular in Finnish schools, mostly spoken in the west coast

I’m very excited about this. And it’s a ballad heavy year which will make us stand out. 🇮🇪 She sounded great live on the NF. And I love the play on the words “le cheile.” 2024 is our year, Ireland 💚💚💚
@willardprenfrew43036 күн бұрын
what is the play on words? 😅
@myrawatters10366 күн бұрын
@@willardprenfrew4303 Le cheile le cheile la. Sounds like La Kay La La Kay la La. It’s like the old school Eurovision song titles that were gibberish so they were singable in any language. Anyone can sing this but it still has meaning in the Irish language. It’s clever

I like this - I love that it's in Irish but with a modern sound (I'm not sure if they've done that before*). I only hope that they do more with the dancers than have them in white T-shirts and blue jeans: as you mentioned, this needs more color. "If you don't like it, you need to try harder"

I learned something about Ireland today. I thought Irish people knew Irish and English and just chose to mostly speak English at home. Australia need to do what Ireland do and teach Aboriginal languages at school. Also I am a new Junior Eurovision fan First contest I followed was 2023 but I do know the winners and alot of the past result and heard a lot of the songs as far back as 2018 and IOU is easily my favorite Irish song until now (IOU isnt as good as France, Australia or Poland in 2018 with France being my favorite from 2018 but Ireland is still a great song which I like to listen to) But Le Chéile is on par with IOU and Ireland is performing 2ndlast between 2 ballads (Although Portugal is one of the Few ballad Im giving a chance to win JESC its still a ballad) so Ireland will be boosted by that
@ESCTom5 күн бұрын
nah, unfortunately very few people can speak it fluently. We learn it in school, but practically very few people outside of the Gaeltacht's use it. Also because the Gaeltacht people get all the best marks in Irish, it doesnt make it practically useful to take it seriously in our high school exams - as all the exams are graded on a curve and the Irish speakers get all the top marks.

Tom, is Wales taking part this year, seeing as the UK is absent. By the way, why is the UK not taking part......two really great results, then we pull out ???

No wales aren’t in 😭 I have no idea what happened to the UK? Maybe someone else who sees this comment might know. Like you said they were on a great momentum recently so I don’t get it. Maybe they weren’t able to find a suitable act?

@@ESCTom The UK said it was because of low viewing figures but they are considering showing Junior Eurovision this Year so I dont know what the real reason Is. If I had to guess then Capitalism, It costs too much money for what it makes back

@@stevenwilliams3038 Thanks for the reply. Yes, I guessed that the viewing figures wouldn't be great and the cost for competing isn't cheap. Tom makes a good point.......maybe there is a lack of young artists who want to take part.
