@razgriz1ne1ne483 жыл бұрын
Confidence,mental fortitude and technique for the serve are unmatched, but her all around athletism isn't unmatched, Halep,Klisjters certainly can match her and exceed in speed/defense based athletism. She even in her prime isn't the most powerful player anymore, Keys,Osaka,Andrescu,Sabalanka and Swiatek have hit bigger shots than SW ever did, some of them have matched her fastest groundstrokes with more topspin than she did which is a better feat of strength imo ( in fact Andrescu in that US Open became the first WTA player to truely match the average MPH and RPM of a ATP players stroke, she matched Federer with 73mph and 2850 rpm) which brings me back to SWs technique for other shots ..... its just primitive nowadays, too flat and mechanical, a player with variety and good defense WILL break those strokes down. She doesn't possess the more fluid stroke production of a modern player which give ease of control and a choice of either extreme spin and/or flat power as well as proper set up for touch shots on the fly. This isn't full on hating SW, she earned her success ,just i do believe that Graf is the real GOAT, and a fair argument can be said for Navratilova. And this isn't even counting the elephant in the room .......

It was really sad in her last couple of years watching her go through injuries while chasing history and real knowledgeable people even suggesting Margaret Court was even in her league. Comparison is the thief of joy, but manipulating that slam record is a travesty. When growing up it was known that Steffi Graf had the record and then when Serena started chasing it people changed it to Court. Margaret Court won a bunch of Australian Opens when it wasn't considered a Grand Slam and didn't get the world's full attention. People used that record to say Court is the record holder and some say she is the best. Steffi Graf and Serena are the best. Martina Navratilova was better as well. Martina Hingis might have been great if she played longer. Margaret Court was a tool used to deny Serena's greatness.

I know Serena could win at least two more Grand Slams. However, she has to do more than she ever has before!! Because, her body is conducting itself the way it suppose to act!! It slows down the older we get. So if she’s practicing at the same level she’s done all her life, THAT WON’T WORK!! She has to up her training to compensate for the speed she’s lost. Then, add to that, an add’l 15 pounds she’s carrying. She’s very curvy with a nice behind. But she HAS TO make concrete changes to keep up with these younger players. Practicing & working out at the same level she did for yrs isn’t enough now. Doing the same thing w/o any major changes, will give the same results!! For example, doing exercises 3 to 4 days a week and, watching my calories worked for years. Now that I’m older, the same amount of exercise and calorie intake isn’t working. But adding 1 extra mile and more veggies was my answer. We know she can do it!! We love our girl, Serena!

Of course. For me, what separates Serena is that she had that intimidation factor. As GREAT as Margaret Court and Steffi Graf were, they didn't strike fear in opponents like Serena did. There were great players that were legitimately afraid to be across the net from her. She had that Michael Jordan/Tiger aura about her where she defeated opponents and broke them down mentally before the match even started. Plus, the fact that she's still competitive in her late 30s & now at 40 is pretty crazy. Steffi graf won her last major at 30. Margaret court won her last one at 31....Serena has won NINE majors after 30. Just pure domination, homes :)

She was literally in a league of her own! It's definitely levels to everything and they were not on her level at all. It was like she was playing against children that would throw a temper tantrum if she didn't let them get a point

Frankly the aggression is what’s missing from her game. Even when her serve was off she was aggressive now she’s become more passive. It’s expected when you’re happy so not knocking her for it. She deserves her happiness

A great underated talent of serena is her ability to problem solve when when down in under pressure. She is able to lift herself up a gear by building points with a combination of variety and power in difficult moments. She has truly dominated the sports world of tennis her power mental ability Perseverance is surreal and unmatched.💪

Why underrated? it is clear to everyone who loves tennis. I never understood the qualification "underrated"
@kofipokuantwi-boateng5446 Жыл бұрын
@maggotbrain7499 It's not clear to everyone. Some people have always tried to simply her game to just power. They claim she's not intelligent and strategic. I always ask those people why Davenport and Madison Keys who have much power didn't win so many slams yet I don't get any answers from them

I love it when Serena even stuns herself with a shot XD like at 8:55. And 10:58 is the best one ever XD

There’ll never be another player like Serena xx Nobody in the game currently plays as consistently well as Serena did throughout her teens, 20s and 30s xx Serena is the greatest of all time, Margaret Court may be top of the list but a lot of her wins where Aussie Open wins before it was an open event x that would be like me playing Serena Obviously she would annihilate me xx Serena Williams is the top for me no matter what any board may say x the void that will be left when she retires will never be filled in my opinion and like someone said the mental strength she has had throughout her entire career and the life she has led has only pushed her even more towards greatness xx

I miss this woman. Serena was such an incredible player. Saw her live twice at the French open in Paris in 2013 and 2015. Unforgettable

I read that her serve speed is 207 km/h. I drove a car that fast only a few times in my life and .... it's really freaking fast. I can't imagine reacting to a tennis ball flying towards you at that speed.

The consensus greatest female athlete in any sport of all time. GOAT
@geraldboyer52982 жыл бұрын
From John McEnroe to Billy Jean King to countless publications and media outlets. Time Magazine and like one newspaper in every state has called her that. It’s consensus. Her modern day peers like naomi Osaka are on record saying it too. I can keep naming others who have said that, but they’re so easy to find. That’s what consensus is. Meanwhile you give no counter examples of any examples of people saying she isn’t the greatest.
